Urban Farm Cafe

Restaurants come and go so quickly here...just when you find a place that has something edible (vegetarian and healthy), it turns into a Ropa Americana or pet shop...I live in a rural area and San Isidro de General is the biggest city around for supplies and farmer's market once a week. It is so nice to have found Urban Farm Cafe to eat lunch at on town days and always get good simple healthy food!

Who would have ever thought that on our Costa Rica vacation last month, we could find a clean, healthy, friendly cafe where each one of us found exactly what we like to eat? Well, we did. Thank you, Urban Farm Cafe, and especially the owner, Laura, for a lunch that included fresh salads, wraps and delicious smoothies. There was even a desert special of rice pudding with pineapple marmalade that had just been made that day.

This was our 2nd trip to Costa Rica and our 1st experience finding a farm to table organic restaurant. This restaurant is not assembly line food!
Whether you are passing through or staying a few days in the area, I recommend that you stop by Urban Farm Cafe for a healthy and deliciously fresh eating experience.

My family and I travel to the southern part of Costa Rica a few times a year. We usually just drive through San Isidro, but a friend told us to stop and have lunch at this restaurant. We were so surprised with all the healthy choices that they have to offer. The menu has something for everyone. I had a wrap and my wife ordered a caesar salad. We also tried a pineapple juice and strawberry shake :) The food was deliciously prepared, and the service was excellent.

We will definitely be going back on our next trip!

Super happy with this restaurant, the food is delicious, with a conscious effort on using local organic product of high quality and freshness this small restaurant it is a welcome addition to the food scene on San Isidro PZ.
