CLOSED: Upohar Ethnic Cuisines

I had three plates at the buffet until I could eat no more. Loved all of it, and I sampled all of it. There were two rices, one cold bean salad, and eight entree selections at the buffet. Each item is labeled as vegetarian or vegan with the name of the dish and the country of origin. An Iraqi mint lemonade was not as pungent as regular lemonade.

Tasty food and love the social mission. (Employing people form Lancaster's significant refugee population.)

Every time I eat here I feel like I've had a hearty home cooked meal made with love. The buffet is delicious and affordable. My only complaint is that their hours are pretty limited.

Makes you feel that you're in a different part of the world! Modest variety of foods that is fresh!

Upohar has been in the community for years and I always look forward to running into them whether they're out at a food truck type event, or stopping in for the lunch buffet. If you want a variety of vegetarian and vegan food you've never tried before, you should definitely stop in and check them out.

I have traveled to several countries and tried many types of food, but I've never had a unique flavor like this one. I thought there was only a limited number of ways lentils and vegetables could taste, but Upohar proved me wrong. Thank you!!!

It's a vegetarian restaurant serving (cheap) dishes from all over the world thanks to resettled refugee chefs. This concept alone made me want to go, and I was floored by the food when I went yesterday: Congolese peanut stew, Nigerian fired rice with coconut milk, yams with tomato stew, masoor dhal and Iraqi lemonade with mint and orange blossoms. The only non-vegan items there were samoosas and chai. Go!
