Decent

Cheap and good food. Staff was friendly, but pretty much made me order take out. Not all the staff were aware of what was vegan, but the menu clearly indicates it, although I was told several dishes that were only market vegetarian were vegan too. If you’re in the area it is a good option, but I don’t think it’s worth to go here specifically for this restaurant.

Pros: Lots of vegan options

Delicious food

Very attentive staff and the food was very good. Clean and tidy inside and next to the main park in Colombo. Open plan kitchen so you can see the chefs cooking.

Pros: Traditional Sri Lankan cuisine , Friendly staff, Well priced

The meal was delicious

The food was really good. I ended up with a decent amount and it was reasonably priced (compared to what I usually pay in England). The menu is a little confusing for somebody who has never eaten at a Sri Lankan restaurant, but the waiter recommended that I order the set menu and choose 2 different curry’s and he would make sure it was all vegan. The roti that my partner ordered was also vegan so i was able to share that. The soya kirata was my favourite 👍🏻

Pros: Vegan dishes labelled on menu , Lots of options , Food was delicious

Cons: Confusing menu

Delicious curry and excellent service

Considered a higher end restaurant so paid more than I usually would for string hoppers with curry/dhal however the setting was smart and comfortable and cool and the service was top notch. Most importantly however - the meal was delicious.

Pros: Tasty dishes, Great service , Comfortable dining setting

Cons: A bit pricey

Delicious food!

We had hoppers and string hoppers with dahl and other condiments, which were delicious! The coconut water wasn’t good. The service was friendly but the toilet was stinking! A little pricey but good overall.

Pros: Tasty vegan options , Good service

Cons: Pricey , Stinky toilet, Coconut water not good.

Not good

Traditional Sri Lankan food but the food quality is below average. Feels like cheap fast food chain😒Once we paid and left, the waiter followed us to the street and asked about tip though 10% service was included.

Pros: Lots of vegan options

Cons: Not tasty, Low quality

Really enjoyed eating here

Went there twice (once for lunch and once for dinner), I had pineapple curry, which was delicious and probably my favorite meal while visiting Sri Lanka. I also tried string hoppers with a tomato curry and fried baby jackfruit.

Pros: Clearly stated which options are vegan, The food is very good!

Cons: On the more expensive side for Sri Lanka

Nice high quality Sri Lanka

Upalis is where we take visiting friends from other countries if they want some traditional Sri Lankan food in a nicer setting. There are lots of vegan options and the staff are really good. There is also a small cafe attached to the main restaurant where you can get takeaway rice packs, patties etc.
Upalis also offer a Sri Lankan breakfast with dhal, string hoppers etc if you like.
They have changed their menu to show vegan options now but I never added it because they serve mutton (goat) which I wasn't sure if it was allowed on the veg-friendly list or not.

Good choice next to the Museum

It’s a good restaurant with lots of vegan options clearly marked. It can get pretty crowded but service is fast. It’s not the cheapest one we went to but the food was delicious and it is next to the museum.

Pros: Vegetable curry is delicious, Fast service, Next to the Museum and Cinnamon Garden

Cons: Gets crowded
