This one was closed and the other Universo Vegano didn't even exist. Very dissapointed, there was no information on the internet page or anywhere. Just a note on the door who said closed because of construction work.

First I tried Big Smoky Burger in Florence and was impressed. I tried it again in Milan and I'm still in love with it. One of the best, honestly.

The burger was tasteless.
The mushrooms lasagne was ok .
Good thing was the personal. Very nice amd friendly

It's really a Universe! - Edit
Set in the central Via Solferino, this branch of Universo vegano is spacious and modern. Since it's a franchise I imagine you get the same kind of food everywhere. The choice is huge, really big, it's almost difficult to decide what to eat. You can choose from a menu of appetisers, main courses, secondi, sandwiches, focacce, burgers and desserts and probably something else I can't remember. While the variety is vast, the quality is not always the same. The truffle burger and the tiramisu were delicious, while the jambalaya soup was too salty, too full of thyme and in general tasted as something pre-made. Also the second dessert we had was not great, it was an apple cake covered with chocolate, but it was really too dry to swallow. The price is also on the high-side considering the kind of food on offer but Milan is an expensive town and the choice is indeed big.

Entirely vegan cafe with an extensive menu including fresh juices and cakes. The staff are wonderful, really friendly and helpful. Dinner lacks a bit of atmosphere, but this is a cafe rather than a restaurant. Highly recommended.

BEST MAYO: TARTUFATTA. You have to try it! But the rest.. not impressed. I think they have nice burgers (of course I had better before, but the bun and mayo are tasty) and thats all. Didn't like the lasagna, didn't have much flavour and it was kinda cold. The risotto, for me, wasn't a risotto at all. Tasted like nothing. The juice was good

Quite average presentation. Average soup, too dry beans burger, while mushroom lasagne excellent. Sweet chocholate pie tasted ok but again quite dry as if it was baked a day or two ago. Ambiente nice.

Great it's vegan. Great Extensive menu but what I had was not really tasty. The nuggets where like two backed pieces of bread and the soya chunks tasteless. Maybe I've chosen the wrong things...maybe choose smthing else.

I had the vebab (vegan kebab) with spicy sauce. That was fantastic. The day after I tried the gnochi which was also very good, and a small Gary with fruits for desert, which was really tasty. Highly recommended.

Risotto and tiramisu - Edit
I had a tasty fresh juice, a wonderful vegan gluten free risotto, and then was overwhelmed by the vegan gluten free tiramisu - a desert I hadn't been able to enjoy for years... I must have asked 3 times if the cookie in the tiramisu is really gluten free, and the very friendly owner explained patiently with the help of an english cellphone dictionary that the flour is especially made for the restaurant.

We visited the Navigli branch and had the special spicy sandwich. Very satisfying and affordably priced. The menu is extensive and the staff was polite and helpful. One recommendation I would make is to include a few more restaurant-styled items on the menu as I believe the chain has the opportunity to succeed as a more formal venue given the quality of its food.
