Almost vegan cafe - Edit
It appears that this place used to be vegan, but they had to add dairy cheese to the menu. All the desserts are still vegan and are worth coming here for. Very limited opening hours (afternoons only, half the week only). You can also get an oat milk latte (a rare find itself in this part of France)

The Best Vegan food ( and almost the only) in La Rochelle - Edit
We always try to support vegan restaurants when traveling, but, in La Rochelle, there are none. Vegan is definitely not a thing in this beautiful city unfortunately. We were delighted to find this lovely little spot. There desserts are all vegan and were excellent. They also serve a lot of vegan options on their lunch menu. The service was really great, we sat on the street, and had a nice class of wine with the meal. Highly recommend.

Wow, what a wonderful place. After4 days in a very vegan hostile France, we were delighted to find this amazing vegan friendly cafe in the heart of La Rochelle, thanks to trip advisor. I had a kind of savoury vegan cake with an amazing salad. It was also too much for me to eat so I took some back to the caravan for dinner!
Read moreEverything was beautifully presented, the decor very pretty & quirky and also very clean. In addition to all this, I almost fell over when I was told all the cakes are vegan & many gluten free!! Naturally I had to buy one to take back, haven't tried it yet but if the test of the food is anything to go by, it will be heavenly!

Il y a un brunch. On a pris le risotto qui est excellent et très bien présenté.
Le lieu est calme, mignon, les chaises confortables (pas d'accoudoir donc friendly pour les personnes grosses)et bref c'est un super spot ! Pour déjeuner, bruncher, goûter.
Le staff est très gentil est à l'écoute.

The person serving us was so nice to add extra cacao powder to the cappuccino as I was looking for a moka which is not on the menu.

The food is vegetarian with several vegan options, but the pastries are all vegan.
I had the croq’ vegan au seitan which was simple but good (the side salad was really nice).
I tried several teas (which are housemade) and pastries and they were all delicious.

Top notch food in a lovely atmosphere.
The only criticism would be that mains could be bigger for the price, especially in compared to the starters.
Be careful as lunch food may not be available after 1400.

The food is great, but the restaurant is not fully vegan as advertised, they serve dairy cheese (chèvre chaud in the menu). This was a huge disappointment as we make a point to go to and support fully vegan businesses whenever we can, and we would have liked to be aware that of this fact beforehand.

Ce fut une grande déception pour nous, car nous mettons un point d'honneur à soutenir les commerces entièrement végans quand nous pouvons, et nous aurions aimé être au courant de cette information préalablement.
