Our experience has been hit or miss. This place is always packed (long line). Without question, this place has the most unique and diverse set of flavors, and recommended combinations. Our favorite combos are “sunset beach”, “party in da mouth”, and “broke da mouth”. Our favorite individual flavors are “calamansi”, “mango habanero”, “tamarind”, and “guava”.
Read moreHowever, we are dropping it one star because the quality of the ice is not consistent in our experience. Sometimes it’s unusually fluffy on the outside and unusually hard in the center. Might have been bad luck, because most people rave about this place.
One more thing, there is often a long line at closing time. As long as you are “in line” before closing time, you will get served. Whew!

Great shave ice with coconut cream (haupia) as a non dairy option - Edit
Since giving up dairy I know there are some treats I’ll miss. But not here. Ask if they have the Haupia (coconut cream topper). Then you can dress your shave ice accordingly. I got the Hawaiian Root Beer float combo with it: root beer, vanilla and coconut flavors with haupia instead of its usual condensed milk topping.

Lotsa flavors - Edit
There were a lot of options so went with one of their popular mixes and was very happy with that part of it. They did get our orders mixed up and we discovered my order got the ice cream that should have been in the other dish. They were pretty busy so just saying - maybe check before you leave if you are with someone who orders ice cream. And the keiki size is still pretty generous.

Best Shaved Ice! - Edit
We waited in line for 30 mins and it was worth it. The shaved ice was so soft and creamy. They do serve ice cream here and I’d wish they’d add some non-dairy ice cream but the ice is great alone.
