Vegan + Gluten Free - Edit
We had a slice of the ‘ulu banana bread at Bean About Town, Kaimuki. When we asked if we could buy a loaf, she told us about the brick and mortar store in Chinatown.
Read moreThe baked goods are sold inside Po’ai, which is a coffee + other N/A drinks and handmade crafts by local vendors. So look for Po’ai - not “Ulu and Kalo Bakery.” The bakery is part of this complex but the goods are sold in Po’ai, which is a cool artisan coffee/drinks place with plant based milks.
This is hands down the best vegan gluten free banana bread! It’s fluffy, not dense like most GF baked goods and it’s so flavorful without being overly sweet. The chocolate chip cookies are crunchy (not a fan of soft, chewy cookies) and delicious! We bought a lot as gifts to give to our non-vegan relatives to try.
