Serves meat, vegan options available. Spring of 2017 the restaurant altered their menu to provide more choices for vegans and vegetarians. Offers a brazil nut milk alternative for coffees and granola, and you can substitute eggs for avocado in the breakfast dishes. Also has a vegan burger with black beans and quinoa, salads and vegan bean chili, vegetable rolls, vegetable curry, etc. The chef is from the United States. In Peru there is often the problem of meat being added to the broth of vegetarian and vegan soups, but you can check with the chef to make sure that this is not done here. Relocated from Pisac. Reported closed September 2023.

Great food - Edit
Though its not all vegan. Most is vegetarian and can be made vegan for example you can sub eggs for avocado. Also the owner and chef are very kind. I recommend it for vegetarians and vegans.

Fine - Edit
Very few menu items are vegan and my server didn’t seem to know what that was. However, they were very kind and let us come back to pay the next day when we didn’t realize it was cash only.

They overcharged me - but I went back and they rectified the situation - Edit
I had a disappointing experience here (original review below and I gave one happy cow) but I went back and the situation was rectified with no qualms. Now the sour taste has gone from the experience the food was good. I had their curry. Quite expensive by local standards, however. Upgrade to 3 happy cows. Other local options possibly better.

"I came here for some food with a friend. My friend left early and paid for their food separately. We didn't talk about this and when the bill came it included their food and so I paid it and left. When I spoke with my friend later they said they'd paid for theirs. Thus I paid twice and was overcharged. I can't be sure their intention here but seemed deliberate to me and like I was taken advantage of. Pretty poor organisation if nothing else. All I can do is write a terrible review and suggest not to go here. Food was alright I just feel terribly betrayed and wouldn't recommend."

Great community restaurant - Edit
I've lived in Pisac for a few years and Ulrike's has always been a great place for our friends in the village to get together and to meet new people.
Read moreSince Tim the new chef came on board the food has has more vegetarian and vegan options which is great. You can also now get coffee with nut milk with is awesome. I love the veggie burger and the vegetable curry.
They also have 2 different wifi services so when one is down you can jump on the other one - this is GREATLY appreciated in Pisac. And they are ALWAYS open, 7 days a week with reliable times. Even when the power is out or there is no water in the village, we can rely on Ulrike's being open!!
The only downfall is occasionally the service is not super great, it can be a bit hit or miss.

Pros: Great vegan and veggie options, Ulrike herself is a lovely person!, Good wifi, lots of space to sit
Cons: Service is hit or miss, Not enough small for one person tables (to work), Sometimes the music play list is unbearable!
