We found this oasis on happy cow. Incredibly friendly and attentive service. Every dish was freshly prepared, all vegan. Probably the best samosas we’ve ever had, good quantities of spicy beans, dahl with naan and basmati.

Nach dem wir die vielen tollen Bewertungen gelesen haben, sind wir voller Erwartungen dort essen gegangen. Die Portionen waren für den Preis nur durchschnittlich. Es war dennoch sehr lecker. Der Service war nett.

Best paneer I’ve ever tasted! - Edit
After living off fries, falafel and fried Dutch snacky foods for 5 days, coming to Alkmaar and finding Uit India was a real blessing! I was pleasantly surprised to find this veggie gem in the heart of Alkmaar, only a stones throw away from my accommodation. The menu is pretty extensive, all veggie, with plenty of vegan options. I love that they use mock meats to recreate dishes such as butter chicken. I LOVED the palak paneer - it was so tasty, the sauce was on point, so spinachy, full and creamy and oh my god, the paneer was the best I’ve ever tasted!!! Huge, beautiful chunks of paneer … no rubberiness… just gorgeous chunks of soft creamy delicious paneer!!! My friend enjoyed her paneer tikka masala and said it was perfectly spiced, with a great balance of sweet and salty. The only downside would be the prices, but after spending 5 days in the Netherlands, it seems these are average prices for a sit down restaurant (and it was worth it, after living off junk food for the first part of our trip). Highly recommend all veggies and vegans come here!!

Food is Ok-ish, the butter chicken was too fatty and super chewy but the sauce was ok and the dish of my friend was tasty, the waiter was friendly. However the main problem during our visit was the guy that took the orders (Maanish I assume, the mature guy with glasses and no hair) was quite rude and was making annoying comments about simple questions we had about the dishes. This really killed our experience and made us feel quite uncomfortable. I would not come back to a place were I am paying for a service/experience and the treatment as costumer is poor.

We got 3/4 different plates to share and all of them were vegan, fresh and delicious! The place is cute and the staff was nice.
Read moreThe restaurant closes at 10pm and we have to wait a while for the food (it wasn't a busy moment) We arrived at the restaurant at 8.40pm and we had just enough time to enjoy the food, but without being able to order dessert, coffee or anything else... So plan a little bit more time (than us) if you chose this restaurant!

Cons: Not the cheapest place in Alkmaar (but worth it), They close at 10 but at 9h45 we're asked to leave
