must eat in Hsinchu - Edit

This restaurant is my No. 1 vegan restaurant in Hsinchu City. Highly recommend for vegan ramen lover or anyone who never tried vegan ramen before. Their ramen noodle is chewy, sprouts are organic, mushrooms and corns are sweet, which provide a very excellent eating experience. If you are with friends or family, I suggest you chat later but enjoy the ramen noodle quickly after the meal is served since the essence of a ramen is the ramen noodle itself (my personal view point) and do not let the noodles get soft by absorbing too much soup. About ramen soup, soy milk miso and kimchi tomato are my favorite flavors. Side dishes such as toufu, kimchi, sliced burdock, fried mashed potato are also very delicious. Better to reserve seats or be there earlier waiting for their opening.

All in all, if anyone, no matter vegan or non-vegan, ask me where to go for a meal in Hsinchu, I will recommend him/her to Tzung Ye(綜也蔬食).

Best-value Meal in Hsinchu - Edit

This is a charming, authentic Japanese ramen restaurant. Food is delicious, and prices very reasonable for such fresh, quality food. A delicious tofu entree, spicy ramen and a dessert come to about NT300 - perfectly reasonable for food this good and half what the same meal would cost in Taipei. The interior is clean and simple with a pleasant Japanese touch. The owner is vegan and clearly passionate about serving good quality Japanese food. He also speaks English, and since he's the chef he will usually be there, so it's possible to call ahead to reserve a table - a good idea during busy times I guess. Bar seating for one or two is usually available (sometimes with a short wait) but for tables for groups I recommend reserving in advance.
If you want the best meal available in Hsinchu go to Miracle Greenhouse. But for a simple, delicious, healthy meal, you can't beat Tzung Ye.
