Amazing vings - Edit
Twisted is an order-only business (it has no physical stores, it operates out of a number of kitchens around London).
Read moreWe ordered on a Friday night via UberEats and it arrived 15 minutes early! The packaging is 100% recyclable and the only plastic they sent us was a single small tub of sauce (the larger tub was made from biodegradable paper).
They offer two vegan burgers and both contain panko crusted seitan chik'n. The options are the KFV (with cheeze, avocado, lettuce, vegan mayo, chilli jam) or the Hot Vegan (seitan dipped in buffalo sauce, vegan ranch, coleslaw).
I ordered the hot vegan and my bf ordered one of their meat burgers, and we both agreed they were ok, but we wouldn't order them again. The seitan was in a huge block and not very well textured or flavoured; it was very similar to a regular bean patty. The slaw was a nice addition to cut through the mush, and the buffalo sauce was delicious.
The thing that makes it worth ordered from Twisted is absolutely the Demon Vings; panko crusted seitan with a side of buffalo sauce (very similar to the hot vegan burger). I think the seitan not being pre-dipped is the key; the Vings coating was crispy and the seitan wasn't too dense. And that buffalo sauce is to die for!
We also ordered a side of fried pickles, which were fine. In future we'll probably only order wings and pickles, and forgo the burgers.
Big props for the planet-friendly packaging, and for having a vegan friendly burger that's not just lentils!
Price wise; it was £24 between the two of us, including delivery fee. Not bad at all.
Pros: Demon Vings were incredible, Packaging is completely recyclable, Food really well presented / delivered
Cons: Burgers were mediocre
