Tasty cream tea

Amazing to find a vegan cream tea. There was quite a wait for it but I think that’s because the scones are freshly baked. The only negative is the cream- admittedly the hardest component to get right- but it was light whipped cream and also went watery near the end. A cream closer to the consistency of clotted dairy cream would be the ideal thing but we enjoyed it none the less.

Pros: Vegan cream tea, Fresh scones, Good jam

Cons: Cream, Long wait

Amazing vegan cream tea!

My partner and I came in here after a walk along the coast, and it was just what we needed.
I was super excited to find a vegan cream tea - there was a choice of three scone types (plain/fruit/choc chip) with “clotted cream” (coconut yoghurt) and jam/chocolate spread. The chocolate chip scone was lush, really fluffy and light, and it was good value for money even after upgrading to a deluxe vegan hot chocolate.
My partner also really enjoyed his roasted veg and hummus sandwich. The cake selection looked good (two vegan options, plus some other dairy-free and gluten-free cakes) and the alternative milks were free.
Highly recommend!!

Pros: Vegan cream tea with “clotted cream”, Good range of options, Free alternative milks

Cons: Need to book ahead for full afternoon tea

A wonderful find!

We stumbled into this after a 14 mile walk along the coastal path and even though it was 15 minutes before closing they welcomed us in. Excellent vegan cream tea and a huge selection of vegan cakes (we had the coffee and walnut). Staff were wonderful and attentive. highly recommend!

Pros: Delicious vegan scones , lovely staff , Big vegan cake selection

Had the vegan breakfast and it was average

They have lots of options, not sure if they are any good. We went twice and my partner and i both had a vegan breakfast. It was okay, but we could of made a better breakfast ourselves from food from the coop, but we had limited facilities camping.
The sausages are linda McCartney and under cooked. The hashbrowns were average and undercooked. The tomatoes are not great, need to switch to cherry tomatoes.
For £8.5 its just disappointing.
The service is great and coffee is very good.

Lovely vegan cream tea

We visited in September 2020 and enjoyed a lovely vegan cream tea - tea/coffee and scones with jam and coconut cream. They also had a selection of other vegan sweet and savoury food.

Gorgeous vegan options

Lovely vegan options available. I had the rainbow wrap (mixed veg and hummus) and my husband had the vegan meze board. Finished off with vegan cream tea which my husband called stunning.
The owners were extremely friendly and approachable. The chef also offered to make some vegan options that weren't on the menu. Would highly recommend.

Pros: Lots of vegan options including savoury and sweet

Great tasting food but not very good service

Ate here last year and found the cafe by accident. Sorry to say but the experience was a lot better the first time around. The food was good but the welcome although not unpleasant was poor, served by three very bored looking uninterested teenagers who forgot about the customers most of the time. Didn’t even notice when people arrived or left or when they needed serving. Won’t be rushing back! Sorry!

Pros: Fair choice of vegan mains and deserts , Really good flapjacks , Vegan food in a small town

Cons: Really not the best service with a smile!, Atmosphere was just like the service.

Delightful Cafe

The twisted currant is a lovely cafe with lots of vegan options. Whilst staying in Porthleven I went for breakfast and lunch there. They also offer vegan cakes. Unfortunately I didn't make it for a vegan cream tea!
The vegan breakfast was large and really tasty!
For lunch I had the vegan sandwich which really surprised me and was very enjoyable.
The staff are lovely and friendly but service is definitely in Cornish time!

Pros: Lots of options, Vegan cakes & cream tea, Friendly staff

Cons: Relaxed service

Vegan Cornish Cream Tea!

It was a lovely surprise to be able to get a vegan Cornish cream tea on my recent trip back to Cornwall. Great selection of vegan options on the menu. I even went back again for their vegan cooked breakfast. Caters to many different dietary preferences including gluten free, vegan, vegetarian and meat eaters. I love to find places where I can enjoy vegan food with my family and friends and would highly recommend this place!

Pros: Many vegan options, Vegan cakes, Vegan cream tea

Cons: No outdoor seating
