Nice food, too loud.

I would say it’s pricey. Inside the restaurant is too loud because it opens on and has a view of a gym in the same business. The music is blaring. When I asked when the class ended I was offered seating outside… kind of a wild suggestion that no one can use the seats inside the restaurant.

Pros: Menu can be made vegan

Cons: Expensive, Loud

Wonderful

It has been difficult to find good vegan breakfast food in Vancouver. This place has options and the hash made vegan was great.

Pros: That there were vegan options, Flavor , Coffee

Cons: Would love more options

Internet cafe

Turf is good for vegans and novel n that they also have internet and a fitness studio attached. They serve meat and dairy but it is genuinely Ⓥ forward. Labeled gluten free and Ⓥ with clarity. Bright space you can work on your computer in all day.

Pricy- please read.

Honestly, I’m starting to reminisce on the days you could go out for a meal and a coffee for $15 or less.

This place is absurdly expensive, but almost all their stuff can be made vegan or is already vegan. They have a decent amount of seating and are the only cafe on West 4th, (besides Kokomo I guess, but they lack in seating and have a poor sad location) that has enough seating to actually sit and enjoy your time.

The inside of the cafe is too loud, where I have to yell at the cashier (reminds me of Tacofino Ocho, the poor waitress was wearing Loop earplugs to save her poor hearing) and the fitness panopticon windows are strange. Also, I don’t know why though they up-charge on oat milk when they’re basically ‘all vegan’.

It cost both my boyfriend and I $71 ($9 tip) for a whole meal. Two Matcha’s, up-charged $1 for oat milk each, his breakfast hash (no up-charge for adding just egg and vegan sausage!) and a ricotta mushroom toast ( $7 for two vegan sausage links)

Also to note, in early October there was a post in regard to the political and regime current events happening in Palestine- keep in mind that this company is owned by two Indigenous sisters- promoting genocide and zionism. This caused an uproar and the post has since been deleted without further comment on the matter.

Go-to lunch spot

Turf is my ride or die casual vegan breakfast/lunch spot in Vancouver. After a workout class in their studio, the options for re-fuelling are limitless. From smoothies to baked goods there’s no way you can be disappointed with their fresh, extensive, entirely vegan menu. For those who would like, there are options to add fish/poached eggs to your dish. I really just can’t get enough of the exercise classes, coffee, deli, and dishes at TURF! Their atmosphere is homey and their staff are outgoing and friendly. I will keep coming back for their weekly specials which always keep the menu enticing and exciting. I am impressed by the inventiveness of their dishes and can’t wait to dive into the kimchi options next time.

Today I got the ginger tempeh salad. Flavourful, filling and delicious.

Great vegan brunch spot

Popped in Sunday for brunch and had the mushroom toast with sautéed greens as a side. The toast was a single slice but piled high with homemade creamy nut cheese and sautéed herby mushrooms. Really enjoyed the whole thing and will be back for a quick brunch again and to try some of their main dishes. They have free almond milk to add to coffee and most of the menu is vegan except ‘protein extras’ (dead fish and chicken periods) and dairy milk on the coffee bar. Cool laid back feel next to a exercise room with grab and go options

Pros: Mainly vegan , Good brunch , Free almond milk

Cons: Bit expensive for some dishes , Serves eggs and fish

Very disappointed

Food was pretty gross, with the cinnamon bun being very bland and almost goopy. The prices were high for what I received as well. Absolutely won’t be going back.

Cons: Expensive

Great fresh food, delicious flavors. 90% of the menu is vegan, but unfortunately they offer “Protein” as well. I will be a repeat customer.

Pros: Freshness, Nice ambiance

Portions are too small for the price

Similar to the other reviews, I also felt like you don’t get what you pay for. I left feeling mediocre about the dish I ordered (one of the bowls). It was fine but not amazing. They need to give people more if they’re going to charge the prices they charge.

Very tasty but very small portions!

Very tasty and very clean (I think they used only coconut sugar to sweeten) but the portions are all very small for the prize!
I can recommend this place if you want a little snack or if you are just coming from the gym or from yoga. Fitness atmosphere, cool place to sit!

Pros: very tasty

Cons: small portions
