Great meal - Edit
It was a great experience all around to eat here. The staff was friendly and spoke a little English. They offered a soup and main dish for lunch. It was a very complete meal with homemade salsas and tortillas and side dishes - everything was delicious.
The benches at the tables inside were very short and difficult to sit at.
Pros: Delicious homemade food., amiable staff
Cons: uncomfortable seating

Savory Dishes with a twist - Edit
The couple that owns the restaurant and amzing at what they do. They created a delicious menu that enhances the flavors of each item together. Their hospitality and the restaurant itself is amazing. I had made myself comfortable there while waiting for my meal and they were so polite. I am a true fan now.

Tasty and good priced food in a great atmosphere - Edit
This newly opened place offers a different healthy vegetarian menu every day (I came in a few times and it was always very different), mainly mexican plates, but with a lot of variety. I recommend their set menu, which is a large size taco with two side dishes, a soup and fresh juice all at about $4. After speaking to them they told me that they buy their fruit and veg fresh every day, and it definitely makes a change from eating the oily food found elsewhere.
Also I really like the atmosphere and the music they put on, and the young mexican couple are very friendly.
Pros: Nice environment, Light and healthy food, Good diversity of dishes

Wonderful Veg Mexican Food (great for on the go) - Edit
I’m staying in San Cristóbal for a few months, and Tu’l Mash is my “go-to” place whenever I’m in the historic downtown. It’s great to finally have an affordable place for vegetarians to grab a quick, healthy bite.
The menu changes daily, but everything I’ve tried has been wonderful.
The food is really nice and the prices as well. My first meal was a platter consisting of a taco (made with 100% native Chiapan, non-GMO corn) filled with potatoes, bell pepper, and cheddar cheese with sides of nicely seasoned rice and nopal cactus. All together, it was only $30 pesos.
The friends I brought with me also raved about the taco filled with eggplant breaded in amaranth. The juice of the day (mandarin orange, pineapple, papaya, and mint) was also quite nice.
The food is prepared with conscious attention paid to the quality of the ingredients, and you can taste it. Owners Mario and Eliane are also the sole employees, so feel free to ask them your questions if you have a specialty diet. About 80% of their menu is vegan.
The place is almost a buffet style (although it’s not all you can eat). You can see the food as you make your selection. There’s a nice patio in the back where you can enjoy your meal outside as well.
Oh, and there's free WIFI.
