A historic experience - Edit
This seems to be the oldest tea house in Japan, but the real attraction of this place are the great views of the river and the wide matcha-centred menu. The vegan options are not labelled but the staff has allergens list and is ver helpful. Recommended for matcha lovers.

Nice matcha zenzai and tea dango - Edit
I went here on a cold day after sightseeing in Uji.
Read moreThe matcha zenzai (980¥) I got was really good, the matcha was slightly bitter which paired well with the not too sweet anko. The dango addet a nice chew.
My friend got the tea dango (1000¥) and sencha set. The dango were rather small and very cute, they were very fragrant aswell.
The staff is friendly, the prices are fair and there are quite a few vegan options to chose from.
Would definitely recommend this shop if you are in Uji.
The view over the river from inside the cafe is really nice aswell.
