very delicious soups - Edit
we ate ramen and tatan. both were very good.
Read morewe also took gyoza that I thought was good but my husband didn't like so much.
the stuff were nice but didn't speak English at all. it can cause problem if you don't order all you want at once... was hard to explain to them that we want something in addition.
Pros: all vegan. fresh. in the station.
Cons: you need to pay 280¥ to enter and exit the station

Yummy noodle dishes and lots of vegan options - Edit
Entirely vegan restaurant so there were heaps of choices. We had the black sesame Tantan which was flavourful and yum. The gyoza was alright but not that great imo - maybe try the fried soy meat instead. Cost ~1,500 yen for noodle dish, side dish and drink, which was a good price. The restaurant can be found by platform 8!

Fast ramen - Edit
The big plus here is definitely the fast preparation of the food (although it makes me suspicious). The ramen here is OK, as it was at T’s tantan at Tokyo station. The gyozas were dry and not very good here. Nothing bad about this place, in our opinion the ramen just isn’t that good.

The best ramen I ever had. I especially recommend the soy sauce based one.

Best vegan food I’ve ever had - Edit
I had the black sesame Tantan noodle dish (thin noodles served w/ veggies in a vegan dashi) with a side of gyoza. The noodles were savory, perfectly cooked, generously bathed in sesame, and finished with an ever-so-perfect aroma of spice. Easily both the best vegan meal I’ve ever had and also the best noodle dish I’ve ever had. 10/10 would recommend to anyone, meat eater or not.

Absolute best place - Edit
I recommend the sesame ramen it's the best! Remember you need a ticket called "platform ticket" to get there. Ask the staff, it's a bit difficult to find. Close to the 9 and 10 zone.

Very tasty vegan food - Edit
I went into this restaurant on Friday night. Had to wait outside for a bit because it was full, but they brought a menu to look at while waiting. Once I got in the food arrived really fast. The noodles were delicious, and the portion was quite large. Huge plus for the place being completely vegan.

Quite impressed - Edit
Tried this place given the Tokyo station location, the most/highest rated place in the city on this site, is temporarily closed. While I have a strong feeling that's the case simply due to it's location (this branch has incredibly fewer reviews), it was nonetheless a very satisfying experience.
Read moreKind of a trick to find, as the floor from which you enter the station is in fact the second, so you don't need to go up any more stairs. I had the basic shoyu (soy sauce) bowl, which had some nice honey garlic chicken wing type things in it. Quite delicious, especially being the cheapest option, but not terribly filling.
They really nailed the balance between "green" establishment and homey Japanese in all regards; most vegan restaurants in Japan go 100% in the former direction, and I think what T's is doing is more effective in covertly getting more people to eat veg, which in Japan is a huge victory.
As an example, the place was packed with a mix of salarymen and housewife-types; I'd be shocked if even half were veg(etari)an (just my opinion after living here over three years). But what matters is they were there enjoying the very convincing noodles. Other ramen places I've tried do things like soy/tomato broth, which is nice, but kinda not proper ramen!
Pros: done like actual ramen, not madly expensive like vegan in Japan can be, probably tricking many people into eating vegan
Cons: physically inside the station

Just one word: awesome. This is my most favorite noodle chain in Tokyo until this moment. I have tried 2 of their stores and they both gave me pleasant experience.

Favourite place in Japan - Edit
I’ve been to a few T’s on my visit but this is by far my fave. It has a beautiful interior, the food is so so good, the service is really polite and the food is AMAZING. It comes out so quick as well! I’ve been 3 times so far and we plan on going lots more before we leave Japan. I can only comment on the ramen since that’s all I’ve had from here, but it really is exceptional. The first time I had black sesame which was really tasty but gets a little overwhelming towards the end of the broth (for me personally), second time I had the white sesame which I thought was very tasty again, and I wasn’t overwhelmed with sesame seeds in the broth at the end! And the third time I think was my favourite, golden tan tan. Such an amazing dish! Most likely will head back in the next few days for this (the peanut butter in this made my day!). I recommend getting the gyoza sides with a ramen. I’ve had the set meal with rice but I really preferred having more gyozas.

Awesome veg ramen! - Edit
We had a great lunch here! It's inside Ueno station, so you have to buy a platform ticket (¥140). They had veggie ramen, and a variety of soy-based fake meat. Everything is completely vegan, and they have a list of things they don't use outside the restaurant, for added verification. The menu was in both Japanese and English. We had ramen, and it cost about ¥800. It was also ready very quickly. I'd definitely recommend it, especially if you're travelling through Ueno station.

Very good veg ramen - Edit
We tried the golden sesame and tonkatsu ramens, with the veg meat and gyoza. Everything was yummy, though the peanut butter in the sesame ramen was a little strange to me. Especially towards the end of the bowl, the taste of peanut butter was so overwhelming I couldn't finish the broth. But that doesn't stop this place from being really great! I thoroughly enjoyed the ramen and would absolutely come back. There was a line to get in (we went around 1:00) but we waited no more than ten minutes before being seated. Our waitress spoke great English. The best thing about this place is that they sell their ramen in a cup-noodles version so you can make it at home anytime, which really came in handy during our stay at a hostel a few nights later!

Delicious! - Edit
We had the veggie-pork sauté menu with rice, soup, potato salad and a small curry and the black sesame tantan menu with rice and gyoza and both were delicious! The staff is very friendly and attentive. We liked it so much that we will go again tomorrow to try more items on the menu...

Awesome Food - Edit
Honestly some of the best food I’ve ever eaten (had the black sesame ramen & gyoza meal) and at a good price. Note because it’s in the station, you need a ticket. You can buy a ‘platform’ ticket from the machine for ¥140, then it’s on the row of restaurants high up above the platforms, by the escalator down to platform 8.

Had a great vegan ramen here. The restaurant was a little bit hard to find but worth it. They also do take-away vegan pot noodles which were really helpful to have on hand whilst travelling.

Just like the other T’s Tantan, serves great noodles when you’re in a hurry! Very convenient when you’re passing through major stations and need a bite. The menu was slightly different to the other shop, which was nice, and the food was still tasty!

The quality of food was disappointing - Edit
Yes, it’s vegan and the value for money ratio might be good. But I also want to eat good quality food and want to know what I eat. In the curry, I could not recognize the ingredients and it looked and tasted (and most probably was) industrial.

Great Ramen - Edit
This was the first all vegan ramen place I've been to and it was really good. There is a wide variety of different ramen meals and you can add dumplings or fried soy meat for cheap. This is the perfect place to go if you happen to be in the train station otherwise you have to pay into the area.
