Cute place, decent food - Edit
Troll is located in a cute old building just next to Nidelva. We went there when they had a special offer, a five-course meal for 400 kr, which is a bargain. Anyway, the usual menu is 600 kr, which is also not bad. They can make both the five- and three-course meals vegan, and they change the menu every day (I don't know if they change the vegan menu every day though).
Read moreThe first dish was beetroot tartar. Very tasty. The second was a soya and mushroom 'steak', which was tasty but way too salty. The first main was a mushroom soup based on coconut milk. Again, tasty, but too salty. Exactly the same goes for the second main, which was seitan with veggies. The dessert was an apple and ginger sorbet, which was very tasty.
The food here is really good. However, I would expect more from a high-end restaurant. Especially disappointing that most of the dishes were salted to death. Still, I would recommend people to come here and experience it. Hopefully the salty food was just a one-time incident.
