don't bother - Edit
If your a vegetarian this post isnt for you
For vegans dont bother with this place they dont make an effort to present vegan dishes anything vegan is "accidentally vegan" And tastes like crap even the orange juice tasted like shit sorry for the language
The menu is mainly in Russian and very messy you order like its a buffet but its not so people cram together and you can't really focus to know what you want food is heated in a microwave unless ur starving and thats the only place near you dont go
Pros: nothing at all
Cons: no english menu , not many vegan options , heated in a microwave

nice place - Edit
there is food by weight as well as fixed price dishes. the menu on board is half translated in English and vegan dishes are marked with special sign. one of the ladies behind the counteer spoke English which was helpful. I tried vegan meat in Thai and buckwheat with veggies. both were very tasty but meat in Thai was so AMAZING that I took the second portion of it to take away! :)

Tasty, inexpensive - Edit
There are two Troitskiy Most restaurants near the Peter and Paul Fortress. This is the larger one. There's no English on the menu and very little spoken, and the workers didn't seem particularly keen to help me, but I guess tourists speaking no Russian would get annoying. They did point out what was vegan, so I can't really complain. The salads are on display, so I had a selection of those and they were fresh and tasty. The prices are cheap - meals for around 150 roubles.
Pros: Tasty, Inexpensive, Nice salads

good and simple food - Edit
This place does not have an English menu, and the waitress did not speak any English either. She was however very helpful, and suggested "lasagne" which sounded familiar enough. They have a large selection of salads to choose from, which you can simply point out. The lasagne is heated in a microwave, that's a pity, but it tastes good and it's very cheap. I would recommend this pleace for a simple but tasty lunch.
