Classic NY style pizza - Edit
I’ve been vegan for 10 years or so. Vegan pizza is usually pretty bad. The good stuff, like double zero, is great, but never scratched the itch of eating a classic NY/NJ thin style pizza. Trixie’s is now the new standard for what I think vegan pizza should strive to be. The ingredients are great, but the most important thing is how this dough is prepared and cooked. Imagine your favorite local pizza place; this tastes just like that, but it’s vegan. That’s all I ever wanted in a vegan pizza and they’ve nailed it. The only issue with Trixie’s is that it’s hard to find and I guess the hours can be finicky. I almost didn’t come here because it wasn’t clear where exactly it was situated off Main Street. The pizza is worth the business “quirks,” but I do hope some of this stuff gets ironed out. This is worth traveling a long distance for, just make sure they’re open before you do!

We had such a fail trying to eat lunch here. Google said they open at 3pm, so we waited. Still not open. We called their number and voicemail said they open at 4pm. So we waited. Still not open. No sign on the door or anything. Finally checked Instagram which said they were closed for the day.

Dang. I've had a lot of vegan pizza and this tastes JUST like the NY pies I had growing up. I've never had something scratch that good ole classic NY pizza itch like this does.

I’ve had several vegan pizzas, usually now request no cheese. I didn’t know I would be able to enjoy “traditional” pizza anytime soon UNTIL I tried Trixies!! If you have the opportunity to go here, it’s a must! I am so thankful for their creativity and focus on delicious vegan food! I will be back💚🌱

Beacon of Hope for Vegans in Beacon - Edit
There's a new kid in town (opened within the past month as of April 2025,) and it's 100% Vegan. Trixie's shows promise, as business was brisk, in spite of the fact that it's "hidden" around back, ironically behind the same building as the "meh" taco place that I reviewed here in 2023.
Read moreAccording to Carolyn, who co-owns with her husband, Mickey, they're hoping to expand their menu and eventually their hours in the coming months. It's clear that Trixie's (named after their dog) is a labor of love for these two parents (the "Vita" pie is named after their daughter), business owners, and full-time workers.
