Veggies galore in fast food Korean - Edit

The DC Metro area has plenty of Korean cuisine, but it usually has little to near no choices for veg*ns. This place is different, probably because it is fast food pick your own toppings style, rather than sit down service. I like the casual environment!

With tacos, veggie roll (seaweed), and bibimbap, this place hits the fast food Korean spot fast. Noodles, too, if you dare, and daily soup, but it's not clear about the vegan broth, if at all.... Will update when someone can confirm for me at the restaurant.

Still, you will be happy with this choice if you want fast, somewhat authentic bibimbap. You can have it heated it a stone bowl for $3 more. The rice selections include regular, mixed grains, mixed with barley and the fourth house is a multi-rice mix they call 'black rice.' Tasty!!! The only veg protein is tofu, but it is fresh, authentic Asian tofu with little dressing up to deliver up tasty satisfying pan grilled veg protein.

The veg choices for the bibimbap are extraordinary- I can't even list them all! Carrots, pickled vegetables of all kinds, two cucumber choices, seaweed, cabbage with ginger, kimchi, shiitake, white mushrooms, broccoli, onions, wild greens, lettuce, water cress, bean sprouts, radishes, etc. if you heart bibimbap but can't ever find really satisfying veg*n bibimbap, you're in luck!

The portion is typical of a 'rice bowl' fast food style of any genre. However, they really satiate my preference for high veg to rice ratio!!!! You also get jot sauce. The veggies can also be piled atop lettuce. The food will fill you up unless you are starving as if you haven't eaten for 48 hours.

There are a whole bunch of Asian snacks and beverages, along with potato chips and iced tea American style. I prefer the rice crackers or seaweed, but there are plenty of choices for all palates. No real dessert though, which is usually what I find at Korean restaurants.

Although tucked just next to the cafe for Kramerbooks, it's still easy to find. Look for the bright sign and lime green outdoor seating.

Pros: Veggies galore!, Good portions, Fast!

Cons: Not marked what is veg, Plastic bowls and flatware
