I heard this place was good, but it blew away all expectations! It was so good that we were sad our stomachs were so full. Even our kiddos loved the food! The BBQ jackfruit wrap is super delish, as well as the nachos. Don’t forget to save a little room for desert too. Even with a full restaurant, the food came out quite quickly. Will definitely be back. There is a cheap parking lot just behind the restaurant too.

This place you can easily miss while driving around uptown. Parking is more so around the building on street parking than a designated parking lot. The food is also "leftover style" the platters aren't plates but they are bowls, so the food is combined together ex. The Sweet Bowl consists of mac and cheese and mashed yams with cornbread crumbles (so not a whole slice) and a dollap of maple butter on top. You can easily add riblets to your bowl but they are placed on top so definitely imagine when you have a huge meal and decide to make a little combo bowl the next day so you put all the food together.
Read moreUnfortunately when we visited they had run out of the patties so we were not able to try the burgers but my party did try the wraps and everyone thought they were delicious. The Cajun fries were bomb and well seasoned.
We also tried the BBQ cauliflower wings as an appetizer and those were delicious. The strawberry lemonade is also amazing. It had chunks of fruit which I normally do not like but this drink held it well and tasted great it was almost as if the flavor is already in the lemonade and the chunks just add to the decor of the drink but are edible, they look great and taste even better!
This is also definitely the kind of place you don't wanna catch near closing because they are so good they will run out and sometimes will have to turn away customers I would say around the 620pm mark definitely check in first but have a backup place in mind. (They close at 7pm)
All in all, definitely worth the hype and definitely delicious to try.

This little restaurant has big flavor. The macaroni has some heat and everything has bold flavor. The collard greens are perfect and the cornbread is warm and moist. The only downside is that it ends. And it’s pricey, but definitely a great meal.

They were out of the ribs when I was there. We got the Lemon pepper cauli wings which were battered and fried amazingly. So light and crunchy. Came with house made bbq sauce that was really good and a ranch that was good. Mac and cornbread were absolutely delicious, the maple butter was amazing, made the cornbread really yummy. Did have some burnt pieces though like reviews said, but it was a good portion so I didn’t mind it. Mac wasn’t special but still really good, I just love a good mac when I can find one. Hubby got walnut meat nachos that were really flavorful and amazing, we both loved it. great portions. LOVED our server. clean restaurant. dont have a single complaint

This is a great spot, really good flavors - I like all the classic soul food sides, the wraps and macs are delicious. The “ribs” are seitan and I don’t love them, they’re ok but kinda dense like all seitan mock ribs seem to be. But the rest of the menu 🤤❤️ eating here also supports a fantastic Black owned vegan business!

Cauliflower wings were the star for us in our order. They were perfectly crispy on the outside while the inside was practically juicy (if cauliflower can be juicy - I'm trying to avoid the word moist). In short, it was a great combo of textures while also being great flavor. Unfortunately our cornbread had burnt bits on top so we picked around that. Thankfully it was a generous portion because we ate every crumb that wasn't burnt! Collards were too salty for me, which was disappointing because I was really looking forward to it. The sweet yams helped balance the salty collards. They tasted like a guilt free, healthy dessert!

I’ve had vegan soul food at a few different places across the country, and this is the best! I had the cornbread, ribs, collard greens, and yams, and all of them tasted just like the non-vegan versions of these classic dishes. I tried this on a visit to Minneapolis, and was seriously tempted to go back the next day.
