favorite spot in La Jolla - Edit

Trilogy Sanctuary is a serene and beautiful spot to eat vegan, sit on the roof deck and take in the view of the city, or practice yoga. The vibe is welcoming and relaxed. When I was working in La Jolla, I’d often come here and spend my entire day off reading and relaxing on the deck, sometimes eating three delicious vegan meals a day.

Pros: beautiful deck, friendly staff , great food

Relaxing place to eat - Edit

I was only in La Jolla for a day and this place made me happy I visited. It’s cosied up on the roof of the building, so you have to get a lift up there. On a sunny day there is lots of seating and a pleasant view, on a rainy day you can still sit inside but it’s a little harder to find a spare seat. Lots of sweet and savoury options. I got a cookie sandwich but the cookies were a little too solid and not that impressive. It sounded better than it tasted. The decadence dessert looked like a great choice!

Pros: lots of options, nice view

heaven - Edit

I am visiting from NY this week and did my due diligence as to where to eat before coming to San Diego as I am spoiled living in the NYC area. Well, let me tell you, this place is AMAZING. By FAR one of my most favorite places that I have ever eaten! It’s truly a home away from home. I took several yoga classes while I was here and fell in love even more! I want to move here now, any one hiring? ;-)

Trilogy Sanctuary Cafe, La Jolla Village - Edit

The Trilogy Sanctuary has been on my Food/Travel Bucket List for months. I finally made it out there, and it was gorgeous.
The Cafe is on the third floor, via elevator entrance. Signage from the sidewalk/street is very clear about how to get there. The cafe is a window away from the outdoor rooftop Aerial Yoga area - if there is a class, you can watch while you eat! There is seating inside the cafe, as well as outside on the rooftop. There are friends eating at tables, and individuals working on laptops, or relaxing. It really is a sanctuary. I wish the view were a little nicer, but that's being really picky.

The service was friendly, I would liked to have talked more! I ordered the Buckwheat BLT Crepes, with a side of Sweet Potato Wedges & Tahini Hummus. I've never had Buckwheat; it is thick and hearty, just dark enough in contrast to its fresh fillings. The Sweet Potato wedges were unbelievable, and the Hummus. Very glad I added them.
My experience was wonderful, and I only wish I had more time to spend there! They host evening events, and I wish I had had stomach room for a smoothie or dessert, and that I had brought yoga clothes to take a class!

I very much recommend the Trilogy Sanctuary, and would love to be back someday. May more places like this exist everywhere!

Pros: Atmosphere and Location, Food, Menu Variety

Cons: Somewhat Pricey, Too many good menu options!

Best Vegan in San Diego! - Edit

Trilogy is a vegan paradise!

Not only is it vegan, but also ORGANIC along with NO gluten, soy or refined sugar!

The place is nestled nicely on rooftop in downtown La Jolla, you can eat inside or out....cool hippie/chill cafe vibe.

They have a full menu for breakfast/brunch, lunch, dinner, desserts and my favorite bird rock coffee...also smoothies and cold-presssed juices!

I had the Perfect Tacos (yes, they are) & Decadence for dessert (avocado and cacao). Going back for breakfast on the weekend!

Yummy! - Edit

This place is super cute, on a rooftop while some people outside do yoga. I ordered the Eggz Benedict and it was unique and delicious. Subbing for eggs they used cauliflower and had a jerky of some type to be bacon. Overall very good and filling but I wouldn’t call it Benedict at all. The hollendaise didn’t taste like hollendaise at all and it didn’t taste like eggs but I do appreciate the effort and the taste of the food

Pros: Location, Ambience

Amazing Dessert - Edit

This is a fun vegan restaurant alongside a yoga studio. It has a good mix of healthy and “junk” food. I got the Green Bowl, which was delicious, but the Decadence dessert (chocolate mousse and vanilla creme) was AMAZING. Incredibly rich, but I love rich desserts. Easily one of the top vegan desserts I’ve ever had.

Pros: Delicious dessert, Healthy and not-as-healthy options

Stellar - Edit

This place is just perfect. We tried the cheeseburger and the "perfect tacos"...I never ever seen something that healthy being so delicious.
Everything is 100% vegan and organic.

I don't even know how to describe the desserts. Tried the Decadence (a sort of chocolate mousse) and it is amazing. This alone would be a good reason to come back.

The place has a really peaceful atmosphere and the staff is also very friendly.

Loved every bite and every moment there.

Pros: Healthy, Tasty, Original

Decent, Nothing to Write Home About - Edit

My roommate and I are from Orange County, but we decided to do a vegan foodie day in San Diego and chose Trilogy for brunch. Atmosphere is wonderful; I love the rooftop cafe - granted, it was a gorgeous day.

We ordered and split the breakfast burrito and pancakes. Texture wise, the pancakes did taste gluten-free (a bit gritty). They were okay, but not as fluffy as I like them; there are definitely better options elsewhere. The burrito was also decent, but, again, I've had better. It was also a bit oily from the quinoa mixture.

If I was in the area again, I would be willing to try this place again for lunch or dinner; their bowls looked amazing. If possible, I would give this 3.5 stars. The food wasn't bad at all, just not amazing or really worth the drive from OC.

Pros: Atmosphere, Gluten Free/Allergy Options, Variety

Cons: Food was ok, not stellar

soooo good!! - Edit

Delicious. Inventive. Genius. Must try!!

Only thing it's slightly on expensive side, but large portions. Perhaps if they made portions smaller they'd be able to charge slightly less.

I'm not sure if other people who gave low ratings may have had a different experience, but I thought the food was great! Very fresh, came out quickly, and seemed very natural. Very cool setting, also. Located on a rooftop in a yoga studio. Check it out!

Pros: fresh, healthy, quick service

Cons: none

unhealthy too much sauce and processing - Edit

My boyfriend and I came here. He thought his food was ok, I didn't like mine at all. Both had a ton of sauce and marinated veggies. For a $15/person meal I expect a lot more. I'm sad to say this, but if the place serves healthy alternatives I think it would have a lot of success.

So happy we found this place - Edit

Enchiladas made with red house made tortillas, portobello mushrooms, mole on fiesta rice. So much variety, I had trouble deciding what to order. They happily split this entree so that we could share.

Pros: Large portions, 100% organic, Roof top view.

Unique and really cool - Edit

Don't let the yoga studio facade distract you. This is a fully set up restaurant, with great meals (try the tacos!) and great desserts (try the vegan ice cream sandwich).
The restaurant has a big open air section On The top floor. Great for cool nights or chilling.
Enjoy!

Awesome overall! - Edit

Trilogy has a great location on a rooftop near downtown SD. It's half vegan cafe, half yoga studio, so the vibes there are always cool. The food is delicious. I've had the perfect tacos and the burger which were both delicious!

Amazing atmosphere! - Edit

This place is extremely unique! It's located at the top of a La Jolla building, as soon as you walk in you'll see an areal yoga class which is so cool the you'll walk past the outside eating area to get inside the restaurant to order. The tacos were pretty great but unfortunately the nachos leave a lot to be desired. I get the raw thing but textures really need to be mastered if you're going to charge this much. I hope to revisit soon and try something different soon.

Pros: atmosphere, lots of options

Cons: expensive for what you're getting
