Vegan desserts 🥰

There were a few vegan items on the menu to choose from - I went for a roast veg dish. All were rather ordinary except the spiced sweet potato steak was excellent, as was the Bakewell tart with coconut ice cream. I felt too full for dessert until I saw that, then I found room! They had a vegan apple pie on the dessert menu as well. Very pleasant staff too.

Reasonable pub grub

Came here on a Sunday lunchtime. For the main course there was the option of a roast or burger, which were vegetarian but could be made vegan. The burger was tasty and came with a good portion of chips. For dessert, I had the Bramley Apple Tart with coconut vanilla ice-cream, which was also tasty.

Large potions, decent food

Limited vegan options, but what they did have was very hearty and delicious. I had the chickpea, green lentils dhal and although I expected it to be just another vegan pub curry, it was absolutely delicious - it came with a large serving of well cooked rice, crispy fried onion bahji (with a lime chutney on the side) and some naan. Everything was delicious, naan wasn't anything special but a welcome addition to mop up leftover curry. Would come back for this dish, but didn't see much else on the menu for vegans

Pros: Good food, Large portions , Standard pricing for the area

Cons: Limited options

Surprisingly good!

I had a pretty mediocre experience here a few years ago.
I was pleased to find in a recent visit that things seem to have improved food-wise since, there are several good vegan options. My partner has had the vegan burger and said it is very good. I had the mushroom pie followed by the apple tart, both were excellent.

Pros: Food quality, Good range of beers

Cons: Fairly pricey, especially with drinks, Portions aren't especially generous

Nice(ish) food in a traditional chain pub

There are quite a few vegan options on the menu. I've had the beetroot burger (not great as seemed a bit mushy) and the mushroom pie with veg, chips/new potatoes and gravy (always very nice). I had an issue once where we went for Sunday lunch and I ordered the aforementioned mushroom pie (clearly marked as vegan on the menu). It arrived with a Yorkshire pudding on the top, which wasn't vegan (they rectified this by removing the Yorkshire pud). Normal chain pub prices.
