Nice café and greenhouses - Edit
A nice café in the greenshouses at Ulriksdal. We didn't try the vegetarian buffet but had some nice vegan sandwhich and vegetarian cake with apples and eatable flowers. It can be quite full during lunch time but they have many different spaces to sit, outside and inside.

Organic lunch & fika - Edit
For a place that primes itself on being vegetarian there is a big emphasis on lacto-ovo which is common in Sweden. I haven't been impressed on my previous visits but yesterday they had two vegan soups on offer: carrot and kale (coconut milk base) and a chili sin carne with soy mince, which I assume was also vegan. I opted for the carrot soup which was nicely seasoned and filling. Side salad with tangy dressing, fluffy focaccia style bread, and the choice of tea or coffee, was included in the price of 125 SEK.
Read moreOn the cake table the vegan options were clearly labelled, from what I could see there was chocolate cake and possibly something more. Regarding the food items, they'd listed allergens instead not making it 100 % clear what was vegan. Ask the staff to be sure. I have yet to try the lunch buffet which is only served on weekdays.
The café is very busy on weekends but the there is plenty of seating and the queue moved along quickly. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Ulriksdal makes for a pleasant outing. The garden centre is one of the best in Stockholm with an incredible assortment and the palace grounds are beautiful and nicely kept. The palace is open for viewings on certain weekends, check https://www.kungligaslotten.se/vara-besoksmal/ulriksdals-slott/oppettider.html
Pros: Several vegan lunch options, nice surroundings , organic produce straight from the gardens
Cons: Expensive, can get a bit noisy and crowded on weekends

Varied and interesting cake selection - Edit
Went here on a Sunday to try out the vegan cakes, and was pleased with the variety and quality. Had a chocolate torte and cinnamon buns. I would say about 1/5 of the cakes were vegan and 2/3 of the savoury food (which looked delicious, but I didn’t try it as it was quite pricey). The gardens are set in beautiful landscape and it was also nice pottering about looking at the unusual plant sales and the kitchen garden after our meal.

Buffet heaven - Edit
Very nice buffet in a lovely (but rather remote) area. Load up on currys, soups, noodles, veggies, coffee and tea. Definitely got my money’s worth.
Read moreRecommend to be there early as the queue gets crazy long.
Pro tip: go take a dip in the fjord behind the café!

Horrible service, I´ll never go back! - Edit
They didn´t open untill 11, and it looked open but someone rudley said You can´t come in, we´re closed!
Read moreThen I came back later at 11 and stood in line. The same person came out and said that if we came for the buffé we had to wait 30 minutes! But if we came for the soup or the café we could come in.
Ok, so I went in to get the soup option - But a sign said the soup had milk and lactose in it!
There was no one to ask for anything vegan at all, everything at the café counter was wrapped and it was impossible to see if anything was vegan or not.
I decided to wait for the buffé that had to have someting vegan, so I sat down for a while. Then I went to the counter again at 11.30.
Then a person in a yellow vest working there said I had to stand in line again to eat. The line had gotten much longer and seemed to not move at all. It would probably take atleast 30 minutes or so - and I already waited in line!
No lunch for me today, or ever at this horrible restaurant! It´s not vegan, or even vegetarian.
Pros: Beautiful flowers
Cons: Crazy rules that makes no sense, Rude staff, Not vegan or vegetarian

I will definitely be back! - Edit
For some reason, it's taken me forever to give this place a shot.. and I'm so glad I finally did! Ok, it's a bit far from the commuter train station, but no more than 10 min by bike if you can find the way. The food on offer is fully vegetarian, almost completely vegan: on the day of my visit they had two non-vegan options, one of which contained honey. Every dish, hot or cold, was terrific, and that went for the soup as well! I found Ulriksdals Slotttradgard to be very reasonably priced (thank whoever they're not cash-refusers), especially since it's an all-you-can-eat type of deal. Granted, the range may not be as wide as Herman's', but then again this is very inexpensive in comparison.
Read moreIn terms of desserts (cakes), they only had a couple options and maybe half a dozen that contained egg and/or dairy, otherwise I would have given this place 5 stars.
Also, the surroundings should be a delight for anyone who's into plants, flowers and the like.

A happy place out in nowhere - Edit
I have been here two time, one time before and today. I really like this place atmosphere, all the plants around it and the food. It is a lot of people that goes to this place and it can feel a bit overwhelming when standing in line, but it is still a place I would recommend. Nice food, nice staff and tasty coffee.

Outstanding - Edit
This is my vegetarian (with vegan options) cafe of choice. As it says (in Swedish) as you enter: "Here we bake with love. All our cakes and bakery items are made with organic/KRAV-marked produce. We use no preservatives or other additives. We bake our own sandwich bread with organic/KRAV-marked rye grits and wheat flour from Warbro Mill. And our chickpea and artichoke dips are of course home made." The vegetarian lunch buffet is quite exceptional, the staff are always welcoming and friendly. This is a cafe with a soul!

A hidden gem - Edit
Who looks for vegetarian food in some old royal garden out in the suburbs? Not I. Which obviously is a mistake on my part, since this cafe serves a great vegetarian lunch buffet every weekday. Lots of different dishes, and all of them very tasty! Lovely setting too, walking through the park to get there.

Not vegetarian - Edit
Went here yesterday. To our surprise we found both ham-, salami- and salmon sandwiches on display at the counter. The cafe/restaurant was listed as fully vegetarian on Happy Cow!
Read moreWe had also checked out their website prior to our visit, and meat options isn´t mentioned at all...
The lunch buffet was apparently vegetarian, but the menu is not fully vegetarian. We drove a long way to Slottsträdgården, but since it was not a vegetarian place as listed, we left and went to Seyhmus in Stockholm instead.
Very disapointing experience. Would have been a nice place though if they dropped the meat.
Pros: Nice place with greenhouses
Cons: Meat , Fish, no information about non-vegetarian menu

This place serves an excellent buffet in a wonderful environment. To get to the café you walk trough a greenhouse. Most of the vegetables served in the buffet are locally grown.
