A very, very popular Trader Joe’s

I approached the entrance and was met by a wave of exiting patrons. I suppose this was not an ideal time to shop, however, I found a parking space more easily than expected. I bought the bare minimum which was some Zhoug Sauce and some tofu. If you haven’t tried the Zhoug (pronunc. Jug) Sauce, be prepared for a spicy experience. It is delicious and actually pretty simple to make at home. To my surprise the long line to the check out stations moved quite swiftly.

Best Grocery Store in Boston

It’s ALWAYS popping at this Trader Joe’s, which is run extremely efficiently whether you enter from the crowded car lot or from the Beacon Street side. Shelves are almost always fully stocked and the lines around the store move quite smoothly (even when it is hectically and chaotically filled with people). The staff is always helpful and have even looked for additional vegan products for me upon striking up a conversation. I’m always prepared to bring multiple reusable bags whenever I go!

Pros: The nicest employees , Efficient even when slammed with customers

Cons: Always crowded (but manageable)

Vegan Options always rolling out

I feel like I find new vegan options here every time I go! Some of my favs is their almond milk, vegan yogurt, vegan moss cheese (not the new shreds, not a fan), banana bread, plantains, and my new fav - PESTO!

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Very affordable , Always coming out with new vegan items

Cons: Wish there was a clearer vegan label

Large and efficient

A large, busy, and efficient Trader Joe’s location. Has a parking lot with store access as well as street access. Has cashiers on both sides of the store for efficiency. Well stocked. Also has wine.

Pros: Large, Well stocked , Efficient

Soymilk is MOST affordable soymilk in Greater Boston

I buy my half gallons of soymilk at THIS Trader Joes for $2.88/each, and it's worth the trip.

Pros: Soymilk is most affordable in Greater Boston, Soymilk is only $2.88 per half gallon, Cashiers are friendly, fast, accurate, empathic

Cons: Very busy, Checkout lines can be long, but move very fast, Noisy neighborhood (but who notices?)

Kindness Managers

I love Trader Joe's. This particular store showed incredible kindness when my elderly friend fainted in the checkout line. Thank you!

Pros: Had everything I needed.

Cons: Tight parking in back.

still my favorite grocery store

Like any other Trader Joe's location, but it's closest to my house, so I shop here most often. They have great specialty items and it's cheaper than the Shaws and Stop & Shop that are close by. This location also has a beer/wine section.

Lots of options for veg*ns. Some of my favorites:

* hummus (try the Edamame hummus, if you haven't yet!)
* middle eastern foods in the fresh shelves (tabouleh, stuffed grape leaves, etc)
* vegetarian burritos, frozen
* vegetable gyoza dumplings, frozen
* trail mixes
* Larabars

Also good deals on frozen organic vegetables and fruits (smoothies, anyone?!?). Organic bananas are 29 cents a piece, cheapest, healthy snack around :)

Unfortunately, the fresh vegetables are sometimes a hit or miss... sometimes I have to supplement at Shaws.

Best time to shop here: on weekdays 8:30am - 10am
Worst time to shop here: on weekdays 5pm-7pm, Sat and Sun afternoons... it gets crazy busy during those times!

Pros: reasonable organic produce, veg*n frozen convenience foods, friendly staff

Cons: sometimes the fresh produce looks iffy, crowded after work
