Hit and miss

Breakfast 

Almond milk available. Nice Maragwe (beans and corn). 2nd day they made really lovely potatoes and mushroom.

Fruit 1st day seemed old and 2nd day tasted of onion.

Lunch/Dinner

Starters and mains were generally nice and fresh and to a high standard. Portions were very very small, which I have fed back to the manager so hopefully they improve. Lunch dessert was fruit salad, I found this tasty and fresh but my wife felt this was lacking in effort as no other option. Dinner dessert was awful on day 1 some sort of chocolate mousse but it hadn't set so was very watery. On day 2 we complained and they made some effort for a decent apple crumble. 

Elewana has a strong reputation and I stayed in a sister lodge in Lewa last year  where the food was absolutely perfect, so my expectations were high. Unfortunately Tortilis didn't deliver to this level. My overall impression is that while you will get vegan food here the kitchen staff don't go out of their way to make it perfect. 

Pros: Great view, Fresh food

Cons: Small portions, Serves non vegan, Desserts a bit lacking
