Fantastic vegan Menu - Edit
This Italian restaurant has been recommended to me several times over the past few years. I don't know why I didn't bother to check it out but I didn't. How I wish I'd taken notice sooner.
Read moreThe food here was fantastic. At the back of the regular menu there are 2 full pages of vegan options. I ordered the garlic bread to start, followed by the risotto ai funghi and then lemon sorbet. Everything tasted wonderful. I would have liked to try the vegan cheesecake for dessert but I was so full l could only manage the sorbet, which was zingy and tasted amazing.
This restaurant's decor isn't anything fancy but the food was wonderful. I can highly recommend the risotto ai funghi. It was delicious. The prices are very reasonable too. The drinks menu wasn't clearly marked but the staff were very approachable and are happy to check out back on things they're not sure about. They also sell cocktails at a very reasonable rate.
All the seating is indoor and there's a nice view of the pier from some tables. I will definitely come again. A bright star amid Bangor's restaurants.

Had another lovely meal. I ordered the Spaghettata, which was nicely spiced. My partner ordered the Vegetariana pizza, which he said was great. I managed to try the vegan cheesecake with chocolate sauce this time, which was delicious. Still a great place to eat in Bangor.

Full Vegan Menu, Marvellous Italian Food! - Edit
Torna a Surriento is located in a prominent spot overlooking Bangor pier and serves up beautiful food compliment the magical view. Their website is a little dated, but the menu is up to date at the time of this updated review, so there should be no surprises for vegans who view the menu before dining at this restaurant. The vegan menu was at one time separate from the main menu, but that has recently changed, so it is no longer required for vegans to specifically request a vegan menu. The vegan desserts are labelled as vegan and are on the standard dessert menu.
Read moreI have dined at Torna a Surriento on three occasions in the last 18 months, and the food has been exquisite on each occasion. I have tried two vegan risottos, two garlic pizza breads, and a pasta dish. If i was forced to pick my favourite dishes, they would be the Garlic Pizza Bread & Tomato and the Risotto ai Funghi. The staff here have been great on every visit, and there has never been a long wait on food despite the restaurant being busy during every visit.
I do not know of another Italian restaurant in or around Bangor that can be matched for vegans in terms of both choice and quality. Torna a Surriento is, therefore, a must visit for vegans in the area. It is worth noting that this is a popular restaurant, so booking is recommended to avoid disappointment, and it can be tough to find a parking spot nearby as the car park fills up quickly.

Good combination - Edit
Good vegetarian options for me and good meat/fish for my wife. Slight problem with lemon cake that didn’t taste of lemon but it was swapped without any hassle. All very good apart from that.

Stumbled upon this place and so glad I did. Thought there was only one vegan choice but the very friendly owner (?) offered a whole vegan menu. Spoilt for choice. Would really recommend this place!

Bellissimo cibo !!!!! - Edit
Absolutely delighted to find this place! The vegan menu is insane! We went for the bruschetta to start which was scrumptious!!! And then we shared the vegano pizza (with extra pineapple) and vegan lasagna. Both were exquisite! Staff were also super friendly and the place mixes traditional Italian decor with street food vibe!
