Top is my go to because it’s close to my place. Great vegan options, friendly staff and great drinks! The Buddha Wrap is super flavorful and a healthy filling treat that pairs with a side of seaweed salad and my personal go to.

This place used to have a ton of vegan options compared to what it offers now, although it’s current vegan offerings (nachos, tofu wrap, grilled cheez, salads, tofu scramble during brunch hours) are still plentiful. It’s good bar food, and a welcome option in the McKinley neighborhood. I appreciate the effort to accommodate vegan diets!

Cool dive, funky outdoor spot. Only had two vegan options- nachos and grilled cheese. Nachos were yummy using Chao Cheese and chipotle field roast. Super spicy but really good! Wish they had guac or vegan sour cream. Huge portion. Interacted with three different staff members, all were very nice.

Transcends “Bar Food” Expectations - Edit
Management takes great care to include lots of tasty, creative vegan options on their menu. From nachos covered in Chao cheese to quinoa salad, this place has got you covered. My only complaint is that the guacamole is not vegan!!!! A server informed me that they use those ranch seasoning powders to help flavor it. This was some time ago, so perhaps things have changed. But I have been avoiding it ever since.

The TOP vegan tacos at TOT! - Edit
I’ve been here several times for drinks but don’t frequent Eastside Tacoma much. I had the Buddha Wrap once which was very good.
Read moreToday, I came direct from work for a late lunch and had two Field Roast tacos for the first time which are $2 off happy hour special and 1/2 off on Thursdays. WOW! They exceeded my expectations. Please note that they are vegetarian unless you request them vegan. I was completely full and satisfied with the plate of two tacos and IPA.
I like Eleven Eleven’s Vegan Taco Tuesday and they are also very tasty. I eat the small street tacos at El Borracho as well which are better now than when they first opened. I even eat the Beyond Meat tacos from Del Taco in Federal Way. But as of today, I’d have to say these vegan tacos at Top of Tacoma are my favorites in terms of taste and value for money. $8.75 is the regular price. Each taco had two corn tortillas (with a flour option). This made them more filling 👍
Pros: Lots of vegan options (easily made vegan), Great happy hour and other daily specials. , Friendly staff and great local atmosphere.
Cons: None! Dive bar feel but quality place!

Great vegan nachos! - Edit
Visited after the Michelle Obama show a few months ago. Ordered the vegan nachos with Field Roast sausage crumbles at about 11:30-12 at night. Very convenient for late night eats after concerts at the Tacoma Dome. It was only a few minutes drive away. Beats sitting in traffic to get on I-5 forever.

My husband (whom is not vegan) and i went here during happy hour and the prices were great. However, we stayed past happy hour and the bill seemed like we were charged full price.... food was good but full price seemed a bit high

This is a bar, be aware. I took my 75 yr old mom here for dinner and it was LOUD with tvs blaring sports over the bar and lots of happy drinkers. But the food was good, there were many options for vegetarian... not so sure about vegan. We enjoyed ourselves and the waitresses were great and friendly.

The food here is fantastic! Many options are labeled vegan, or state that they can be made vegan. I have gotten the Buddha wrap and the Moroccan quinoa salad. My favorite is the Buddha wrap. The atmosphere is fun and bar-like. Definitely gets loud and crowded, so if that's not your thing, beware.

We have stopped at Top of Tacoma the last two times we have been in Tacoma since it is a nice option for vegetarians (especially if you are allergic to nuts).
Read moreJust as the name says it is passes as both a Bar and Café. It is clean and not too loud. We were last there at 6:30 pm on a Saturday night and most tables were full.
Even though it is not all vegetarian/vegan there are plenty of options and we will be back.
Pros: Plenty of Choices, Open long Hours, Prices are right
Cons: Food tends to be too spicy, They tend to overdo it on the cheese
