Unbelievable!

There is something to be said about a 70 year old restaurant with an incredible desert decor that makes EVERYTHING from scratch. Not a lot of options but absolutely one of the best experiences we have had. The servers are amazing and down to earth. They happily split orders.

Vegan menu, upscale environment

Seems like the only vegan spot in town. More pricey than most places but well worth it. Separate vegan menu made ordering simple, servers were knowledgeable and accommodating. Flavors were out of this world. It was perfect for a special meal on a mini day trip outside Phoenix.

Fresh food with great views

I was in the Cave Creek area with a group of vegans and non-vegans and we ended up eating here for lunch. I saw another review and knew to ask for a vegan menu which they happily brought out. I ordered the penne pasta and was so excited at the fresh onions and broccoli with drizzled balsamic on top. It was SO good. So fresh and had a great flavor. Another person in the group ordered the vegetable tacos and gasped at how good her first bite was. Fresh grilled veggies and soft shells was the perfect meal on a warm Arizona day. You also can’t beat the beautiful palm tree views and friendly service.

Pros: Vegan menu, Fresh vegetables , Great atmosphere

Cons: Expensive

Wonderful New Years Eve Dinner!

Wife (vegan) and I (vegetarian) went here for dinner on New Years Eve 2016 and had a wonderful experience.

The dedicated Vegan menu (also have a dedicated Gluten-free menu) has one individual appetizer, several salads that can be done appetizer or entree, three individual entrees, and one dessert.

We had the Three Sisters Salsas and Guacamole (the appetizer), which comes with both flour and corn tortilla chips and fry bread. The three salsas were great and the Guac was very fresh.

Wound up with all three entrees due to a mix up - had chosen the tacos and the 'Farmers Market' (sort of a sautéed veggie medley with a tomato coulis), but they brought the tacos and the Sonoran Melange - which is a sweet potato/spaghetti squash dish with a barbecue sauce, a couple minutes later they brought the Farmers Market over noting the mistake and let us have the Melange on the house. All of it was really tasty. Veggies were sautéed perfectly, and the sauces were really flavorful as well. Only downside was on the tacos - four small flour tortillas and a liberal amount of fillings - need 7 or 8 tortillas to really get through it.

Dessert was a ginger-apple cake with soy ice cream (was also gluten free) - also quite good - not super gingery - just enough for flavor.

Drink-wise my wife had a grapefruit-lime-vodka cocktail (which she loved) and I had a glass of an Arizona Stronghold white (vegan per barnivore.com).

Setting was great - rustic southwest vibe dining room and we were situated adjacent to a roaring fireplace, which was great on a cool/rainy evening. Service was expeditious as well, even given how packed they were for NYE.

Really fits a need we had in Phoenix for a higher-end vegan option ever since Sage went out of business in 2015.

Would definitely go back again!

Pros: Excellent Food, Higher End Option, Wonderful Rustic Vibe

Cons: Got a bit loud when the room filled up, A bit hard to find - be sure to map it first
