Been here a handful of times. Not a vegan. Love the Tomato bisque like soup. I don't recall my favorite sandwich, bit it's mostly vegetarian. Lol

i had a great experience at tom and chee! the cashier was very informed on their vegan options, even down to the honey in their white bread. cheese was melted nicely but was kinda loaded on pretty heavy (not my fav but that’s just me!)

Subpar options - Edit
A grilled cheese restaurant sounded nice, but the options were small. All of the savory sandwich menu options had meat in them, and the vegan option was not well advertised. I had a make your own with wheat, pepper jack, and onions and peppers. It was ok. Nothing special. Do not recommend.

It’s so hard to find vegan grilled cheese and this place didn’t disappoint. Will definitely go back when I’m in town again.

Chain restaurant with a few vegan options. I just had a plain vegan grilled cheese and chips, since adding toppings is extra. Staff wasn't very knowledgeable or friendly. Would go back if I was craving grilled cheese while in Newport.

Disappointing - Edit
We were here 2 years ago and had a really tasty vegan grilled cheese sandwich that was listed on the menu with hummus, avocado and lots of veggies. Today we had to build our own from toppings. Very few options and no hummus or avocado. While waiting for our sandwiches, a server came out to tell us they were out of vegan cheese. We won't be back.

We came here for the vegan grilled cheese and we're not disappointed - it was fantastic. Ordered it on sourdough with the classic tomato soup & oyster crackers - also vegan! Plus a small fruit salad. Food was hot & delicious, we'll definitely be back.
