Open Mon 11:30am-9:30pm, Wed-Thu 11:30am-9:30pm, Fri-Sat 11:30am-10:30pm, Sun 12:00pm-9:30pm. Closed Tues.

spoiled tofu w/ maggots :(

I recently (April 2026) got takeout, veg & tofu yaki udon. The tofu tasted a bit sour but I assumed it was the sauce. I ate about 75% of it before finding maggots in the tofu. I ended up getting violently ill for hours. They said they were going to refund me in full, but they ended up only doing a partial refund. I let them know it only came through as a partial refund, to which they said it should be a full refund. They then replied the owner had decided only to do a partial refund afterall. They used to be better under prior ownership when they were on W. Henrietta Rd., the new ownership/location is just not good. I think they're struggling, it's not busy anymore and the owner seems to be stingy with refunds even after making a customer violently ill.

Pros: vegan options, vegan boba tea

Delicious and Beautiful

This is my go-to restaurant when eating locally in Rochester for Asian food. The place is small and they offer hot tea when you sit down at no extra cost. The staff is knowledgeable on vegan diets and the restaurant looks clean. While everything was delicious, I would recommend trying the Pad Thai, the sweet potato tempura sushi (ask for no shrimp), the Vegetarian Sushi Combination
(soup, salad, a mix of sushi), the masaman Thai curry and the Vegetable Teriyaki Dinner (comes with steamed white rice). Make sure to let the staff know you are vegan.

Great sushi! We are repeat customers.

We have only been in Rochester for 1 1/2 weeks and this was our 3rd visit to Tokyo Japanese. The sushi and tempura are exceptional. This 3rd time visiting we were here for dinner. The prices are a bit higher, but you get more food. I'm going to make this one of my "go to" places anytime I'm in Rochester. The staff is friendly and helpful.
