Amazing! - Edit

Amazing indonesian food, freshly prepared by an indonesian chef. The vegan “rijsttafel” is delicious. Very friendly service, nice decor.

Nice toko, with a vegan menu. This toko has lovely small dishes, combined as a Rice tablet.

Great local Toko - Edit

I initially planned to get takeaway, but I decided to dine alone at the restaurant for the best experience. I live within walking distance, so it's a perfect location for me. The restaurant feels more modern than the usual Indonesian place, but it’s no less atmospheric, even somewhat stylish. The staff were having a bit of a quarrel among themselves, but this did not affect the attentive service.

I ordered the vegan Nasi Campur, which was presented attractively and colorfully. The portion was anything but stingy, came with more side dishes than listed on the menu, and everything was explained very professionally. Besides the flavorful classic vegetable dishes, I found the fried corn fritter and breaded tempeh a surprising addition to what I already knew. I had agreed to order some sambal on the side, but unfortunately, it was too spicy for me personally. Luckily, the staff didn’t mind serving me a glass of tap water.

All in all, I'm glad I chose to enjoy the meal (for the same pleasant price) on-site, as the dish wouldn’t have been nearly as good in a takeaway container. The wide selection of vegetarian and vegan options, alongside the familiar choices, ensures that I’ll definitely come back soon with (or without) company. A great addition to the still underdeveloped Zijlweg area. Highly recommended :)
