Good option if you don't want to cook - Edit
I didn't feel like cooking yesterday so it was the perfect day to give Toko Pedis a try. I had high expectations about Toko Pedis because of the reviews I have read before. Unfortunately the man who helped us was not so helpful as I hoped. It was our first time and we were hoping that the staff could tell a bit more about which dishes are vegan, but I don't think he understands the difference between vegan and vegetarian.
Read moreThe food was good but not great. The vegan babi ketjap was a bit too salt. The Nasi kuning (yellow rice) was a bit drier than I am used to, but the taste was good. The 'klapperboontjes' and vegetables in coconut sauce (Sayur Lodeh) were both tasty. The sweet ketjap Tofu was really soft and flavourful, so I recommend to try that dish.
Would not come back soon I think, but it's a good option if you don't want to cook.

Nice take away, lots of vegan options - Edit
This was the first time I went to Toko Pedis to get some of their food for take away. I wasn't disappointed, but also not impressed. They have a wide variety of vegan options, including tempeh, tofu/tahu and jackfruit and several vegetable based dishes. I went for a medium rames, which consists of a base (white rice, yellow rice or noodles) and 4 other dishes. If you're vegan, I guess you can choose 4 tempeh or tahu dishes of you want. For meat eaters, it's 2 meat dishes and 2 vegetable ones.
Read moreI had cauliflower in coconut sauce (slightly spicy) and braised fennel as vegetable dishes. For the protein ones I went with the ketjap tahu and vegan babi ketjap with tempeh. The fennel and tahu/tofu were my favourites. I had yellow rice as a base, which was very good. It's super fragrant and delicious. Unfortunately, the cauliflower was a little boring and the vegan babi ketjap with tempeh was waaaaaay too salty for me, close to being inedible.
Also, I read beforehand that the staff was very friendly and helpful here. I guess I was a bit unlucky with the staff member who helped me, but he seemed very uninterested and not very helpful. I specifically asked which dishes are vegan which he then not really specified, he just said that one part of the counter was meat and the other part was vegetable based. But there are also eggs on the vegetable based side. When I finished ordering, he asked if I wanted extra egg with my meal, which seemed a bit strange to me considering the fact that it was pretty obvious that I was ordering vegan only food.
Portion sizes are quite generous. All in all, it wasn't bad by any means and I enjoyed my meal but I don't think I will come back here anytime soon.
Pros: Wide variety of vegan dishes , Portion sizes are generous, A lot of tofu and tempeh options
Cons: Staff member wasn't all that helpful , Vegan babi ketjap is extremely salty

The best - Edit
I love Indonesian food and this takeaway is really one of the tastiest with many vegan options. It's also very nice that the food sometimes has a non-traditional twist, for example with Brussels sprouts or kale. The nasi kuning is really phenomenal.

Such a wide vegan range - Edit
This take away restaurant is a true gem! The dishes are filled with flavor and there’s an incredible vegan selection.
Read moreStep 1: choose a base of either white rice, yellow rice or noodles with veggies
Step 2: choose from the vegan dishes to top up your base (there are vegetable dishes, tofu dishes, tempeh dishes, jackfruit etc, when I went there were about 12 vegan dishes!)
The staff was friendly and helpful, the food delicious, flavorful and affordable 😎

About 2/3 vegan and very tasty - Edit
I really love their food, because it has so much flavour! The Nasi Kuning is amazing and the many tempeh and tahu dishes, jackfruit rendang, babi ketjap and veggies (like eggplant, mushrooms, broccoli and green beans) as well. The portions are large, so a medium rames is more than sufficient for a medium eater.

Traditional indonesian takeaway - Edit
Really good takeaway toko for traditional Indonesian food. Plenty of vegan options and even more vegetarian. Staff is friendly and knows what’s up with plant-based food.
