Amazing food tour

We had a long tour (round about 2 hours - eating and going through the village). Yam was very friendly and proud of his project. Could taste everything: fried tofu with garlic sauce, dried tofu crackers, sweet things, roasted sunflower seeds and peanuts while visiting the village people who were producing all the products in their own houses. Very interesting! In the end we were very full. Gave him 5000Kyat each (it’s worth!) and you aren’t hungry after it. Got a private boat for 10000kyats to the other side of Inle lake (could take our bikes with us).

Awesome experience!!

Tofu Palace was a highlight during my stay at Inle Lake. Had quite an adventure riding our bikes there from town. There was a boat crossing sign on the way and a guy who said tofu palace was closed. Don’t listen to them and keep on going. There is Tofu House but Tofu Palace is where we went. All the staff were friendly and quick to start serving you fried chickpea tofu with the best dipping sauce ever. They also bring you tea and snacks made from the village: roasted sunflower seeds, rice flour desserts, fried chickpea flour crunchies, and more. You get stuffed! And they will tell you every ingredient so you can verify it’s vegan. After we ate, Yam took us on a 30-45 minute walk through the village where you see people making food items. He explains the process at each spot and gave money to each place so we could try the items. We were even more stuffed! They ask for a 3000 kyat donation. I loved the whole experience so much I donated 10000! Afterwards we paid him 2000 kyat each to transport us and our bikes (there were six of us) on a boat across the lake so we could continue on our loop. It was an awesome day!

Best Tofu I’ve Had

Extremely friendly community owned business. Amazing tofu with dipping sauce.

Get there before 5pm so you can visit with local villagers. I got there later, but Palace was reopened for me alone & I still got to taste five types of their tofu (but no tour).

Pros: Tofu!, Only in Myanmar Experience, Authentic
