Great vegan grilled cheese

This was amazing! I got a grilled vegan Swiss with pickles and basil. The front staff helped me decide between vegan cheese options and they were so nice. We are visiting for the weekend and will be back again tomorrow.

Pros: Great vegan options, You can fully customize the sandwich, The staff was wonderful

Cons: The menus in store don’t list the vegan opts

Tasty lighter fare

The menu did not mention vegan options when I went but the friendly staff made a recommendation to try a non-dairy version of their mushroom sandwich when asked about it. Not the biggest and most filling sandwich I have ever had but it was delicious and the price was reasonable. It came with chips and they had bottled/canned soft drinks available to wash it down with.

Pros: Friendly staff, Plenty of seating, Delicious food

Cons: Could be more filling/bigger portions

A light lunch or for kids

Toasty's is located in some sort of shared office space area / mini mall, so finding it was a little strange. But they have a huge upstairs seating area with booths and tables, which was cool. Staff was chill and friendly. I think they said they can make any of the Vegetarian sandwiches vegan.

The sandwich was carefully assembled evenly toasted. But in the end, I wanted more: more fillings, more oozing cheez, more crustiness on the bread. Maybe some marinara to dip in. Plain white bread served with potato chips just didn't feel very special. But I think it'd be great if you have picky eaters or kids.

It was comforting in a nostalgic way, but not my favorite.

Pros: vegan cheese, lots of seating

Cons: kind of greasy, especially served with potato chip, portions on the small side

I would love to love this place but they didn’t have any vegan bread.

My experience was lackluster. A sandwich shop that says it’s vegan friendly but has no vegan bread is not vegan friendly at all.

Pros: Local, Nice atmosphere

Cons: No vegan sandwich options , No vegan bread, Billed as vegan friendly

Love it!

I love coming to Toasty's, both before and after I became a vegan. The majority of their menu is actually vegetarian and every sandwich can be made vegan just by asking while you order. That actual building is very cozy and comfortable and the food tastes AMAZING. Definitely a go-to for me whenever I want a simple meal

Pros: HUGE amount of vegetarian options , Everything can be made vegan

Cons: No vegan soups

Decent

I visited Toasty's for the first time last Saturday. I went to the one on Ninth Street East. I was impressed with the friendliness and willingness of the wait staff to make sure my grilled cheese sandwich was completely vegan, butter and all. The food was simple but delicious, though a little on the greasy side (typical of restaurant food anyway). The cafe is small, no frills, but cozy and there is a variety of seating arrangements. I like that Toasty's uses local organic bread from the Positively Third Street Bakery and organic fruit. I am impressed that this little cafe includes Daiya cheese for vegans, and vegan suitable bread and butter. I was able to make a nice meal with my sandwich, tortilla chips, and fresh fruit. The prices were fairly reasonable. I would visit this restaurant again (maybe the next time I get a hankering for a grilled cheese sandwich). Parking is on street, but didn't seem too hard to find even on a Saturday night. It's worth a visit for a few vegan comfort food items! Due to the small size, the wait for your food is short and sweet!

Pros: Quality local organic ingredients, Friendly wait staff, vegan comfort food!

Cons: Parking is on street, Cafe is small so seating may be hit or miss
