Greek comfort food - Edit
We had multiple starters (eggplant, zucchini flowers, stuffed wine leaves, stuffed peppers, spinach pie, stuffed mushrooms and bread). All very tasty and great quality food. Plenty to share. We were told that the stuffed mushrooms were vegan, but had our doubts.
Read moreThe male waiter wasn’t very helpful explaining what the food was made of. He didn’t speak very well English, and seemed clueless about the food.
Come early in the evening, so you can enjoy the view while the sun is still up.
Pros: Lots of vegan options , High quality and fresh ingredients
Cons: Place was not too pretty, Felt a bit crowded because of tight placement , Stressed out staff

Gourmet plant-based variants of traditional Greek dishes - Edit
As vegans, we didn’t think we’d get to experience the flavors of traditional cuisine… until we found this place. Everything we had was excellent and the kids loved it as much as we did. Last but not least, the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Loved everything about this place! Food is delicious, biological, and mostly vegan, the place is cosy with terrace looking at the sea, portions are generous while prices are modest, staff is very sweet and helpful. We will definitely come back during our stay in Chania!

Fantastic vegan Greek food - Edit
This place is a real gem, so many options and all clearly labelled. Plenty gluten free options too. I had the moussaka which was so delicious I ate the whole lot. Iced coffee with almond milk and then a free halva at the end which wasn’t to my taste but a lovely thought. The chef Stelios came out and explained the menu and all the food to us. Very nice family vibe, super welcoming. Don’t miss this plane if you’re in Chania!

I loved eating at To Stachi. It's a lovely place with great original Greek food in Vegan. Every dish was explained by the owner himself and he even told us the recipe for one of his desserts. It is an absolutely go-to when in Crete /Chania!

Amazing vegan options - Edit
A cute little waterfront restaurant between Splantzia and Koum Kapi, most of their menu is vegan. We went for dinner early in our trip to Chania and got spinach pie, grilled eggplant, and their daily special - an artichoke and fava bean dish. We got their lovely bread and a free sweet (their halvas - which was lemon). The service was amazing and we had a great table outside.
Read moreWe loved it so much we went back for lunch another day. The second visit, we sat inside as there were no tables outside and it was busier so the service wasn't as good. We didn't get any bread and they were slower to take our order. This time we ordered a few things from the menu they didn't have, which made sense based on the early-in-the-season visit, so we ended up getting the vegetable stuffed mushrooms (which were actually stuffed with the same rice mixture as the grape leaves), grape leaves, spinach pie again, and briam.
Pros: big servings, inexpensive meals, lovely location
Cons: slow service during busy times, some things on the menu unavailable

Wide selection of vegan or veganised dishes. I especially liked that they have vegan versions of traditional local cuisine. The green beans casserole was delicious. I will definitely be back. Generous portions, very friendly service and good value.

Vegan Cretan dishes - Edit
Good choice of veganised Cretan dishes, although a little pricey e.g. hummus was €5 for a small dish. However, the stuffed courgette flowers are divine and I defo recommend. Lovely waitress and it's in a nice location.

Homemade feels - Edit
The owner/chef was out on the day explaining the menu and options to every table, which I think it was nice. Only thing I wish I hadn’t seen was his hands (not the most hygienic), other than that food is good and options are very filling.

The staff here is amazing! The restaurant is family managed and vegan options are abundant. The food tastes homemade, so don't expect fireworks. All the typical Greek options are available.

Great & tasty vegan selection - Edit
Lovely traditional Cretean food. The owner is really nice as he describes his menu in detail to you. He provides free small starter and dessert🍰 when you order mains. The selection is large so everyone will find something suitable. The food can be made vegetarian as well with local goat cheese. The only disappointment😟 was the portion sizes. We order 2 appetizers and 2 mains yet it didn't seem like enough. All the mains are served on rather small plates while the prizes are as per a regular restaurant.

Nice but lacking - Edit
The food we had was not really that great, it's the only meal we've added salt to since we've been here. The pasta dish we ordered came out almost Instantly, was burnt in some places and had the chewy consistency of pasta that's been warmed in a microwave. The staff are lovely and the setting is quaint. You are slightly packed in though and everyone around us kept coughing without covering their mouth. Price was great but anymore and we would have felt we overpaid.

Cons: Too many tables in a small space , Pasta was bland and chewy
