We tried Sultan King, which has two durian scoops over durian ice cream (I believe that was what it was). First time to try this fruit. As everyone describes, it tasted like strong garlicky mango cream. My husband liked it. I’m satisfied with this one time experience.

It stinks (as it should do) - Edit
When you visit Singapore or Malaysia, you have to try the infamous stinky fruit: durian. However, durian is not allowed in trains and not allowed in hotels. So trying it at the comfort of your own home / hotel is out of the question. And to eat an entire fruit on the street is a bit too much. Ordering durian ice cream, durian mochi or other products make it easier in taste and quantity. But those might contain milk or eggs.
Read moreHence, Tiong Bahru to the rescue. Tiong Bahru is located on the outside of a food hawker, which makes sense because of the smell. So once you find the food court, walk around it and not inside it.
The sign outside clearly says that everything on the menu is plant based. Every item on the menu contains durian, so there's something for beginners and dare devils. I went all out and got a (small) serving of fresh durian on durian cream. Because it is served outdoors, the smell wasn't too bad. To me, durian tasted like mango with garlic and onions, but opinions vary. I've seen descriptions that are much more horrifying than my experience. I could eat the entire serving and the only obstacle was the rather sharp edge on the provided plastic spoon.
To conclude: for vegans, Tiong Bahru is the best way to try durian in Singapore. This place stinks, but then again: it should do.

Glutinous rice dessert was okay - Edit
