Serves meat, vegan options available. Café with labelled vegan options, such as Buddha bowls, toasties, smashed avocado, and baked goods. Open Mon-Fri 7:30am-2:00pm, Sat-Sun 8:00am-2:00pm.
Sautéed mushrooms with toasted ciabatta. Labneh, and a few salad leaves. The sprinkle of toasted seasonings was delightfully tasty. It was served with poached eggs but easy to ask for them to be omitted.
I’ve been here before on a visit to Launceston and it was great so I was disappointed to see that they now only have 2 options on the menu. I ordered the Buddha bowl and it was fine but expensive considering it was a bowl of some rice with some pickled carrot, half an avocado and a small amount of roasted sweet potato. Would have been much improved if they had added some chickpeas or mushrooms. The coffee was also very bitter, I suspect they used espresso beans to make a filter coffee.
Yes there’s vegan options by removing eggs and feta etc but when I go to a cafe that serves all foods, I want something substantial and similar to my friends. I want a rosti or scrambled tofu or home made baked beans. I can get avo and toast at home and just because I’m vegan doesn’t mean I want salad for breakfast. Lovely staff and cute cafe though.
