Good vegan breakfast

Great breakfast place in the old city. Abundant options for a breakfast. They also sell other assorted snacks.

I had the Khao Soy and two sausages. The curry noodle is excellent besides coriander. Sausages are cold and taste more like soya chunks, would be nice to warm them up before serving. ( and they don’t go well with sweet Chili sauce imo)
Opens door at 6:30am is conviennent for early risers or for those who want to beat the heat. Highly recommended.

Cheap and Tasty

I give all these vegetarian "J" เจ shops 5-stars because they are so tasty and cheap. Depending on appetite...can have a wonderful, filling Thai veg meal for $1-$2 USD. Brown rice with 4 sides was B45 ($1.50). #Veganuary

Pros: Lots of vegan options, CHEAP, Tasty

Ideal place for budget vegan food!

It's nice vegetarian place with big variety vegan food: premade and cook after order, also available ready to eat options as vegan springrolls, burgers, nori and leaf chips. Staff was friendly. Also they had free cold water for costumers. We tried many dishes inside and for takeaway: all was good and so cheap. Highly recommend fried shiitake mushrooms steams and vegan char-siu mock meat.

In this place you can also find big freezer with vegan mock meat items for sale, but some kinds of mock meat contain egg - so be careful. Also they have mini-shop with soy chunks, spices, sauces and etc.

Pros: Very cheap, Good location in old center, Variety vegan frozen mock meat

Cheap & Good

Spent 30 days in Chiangmai in Nov 2019.
Patronise this Wonderful Chinese Vegan Restaurant many times.
3 Dishes plus Rice for 35 bhat.
Very Lucky on my 2nd last day, there were Fresh Stock of Mock Meat. Purchase 3 different types to bring home to Singapore.
Mostly patronise by long staying Expats & Local Thai.

Pros: Reasonably price., Clean Environment, Friendly Staff

Cons: None

Yummy Khao Soi

I’ve never had Khao Soi and was looking for a place that had a vegan version of it. No idea how the meaty version tastes, but this was lovely!
I loved the crunchy fried noodles on top. The mock meat tasted scarily realistic and could probably fool most people into thinking it’s actual meat (had the same kind in another vegan place too though, otherwise I would have been worried).

Wasn’t a fan of the mock meat balls in it though, it was mainly a consistency thing for me.

They also have a little shop where they sell mock meats from a fridge and have veggie staples like tvp, mushroom stock, and vegetarian curry/chili pastes for sale.

Prices were also great, the khao soi was 35 Baht

Great food for a cheap price

We went here twice to have a cheap breakfast and loved it. Of course, the location is not as nice as the more expensive restaurants, but the toilet is clean and the food is tasty. I would simply not recommend the plastic bottled water you can buy here. It tasted pretty awful. Other than that we highly recommend this place if you rather spend the money on a day trip than an expensive meal. You will leave stuffed and satisfied for sure. The staff is also super nice and friendly.

Pros: Tasty and cheap food, super friendly staff

Cons: Water didn't taste good

Best Khao soi in Chiang Mai

I had lots of Chiang Mai noodles when I was there and this was by far the tastiest and true to real Thai khao soi I think. It comes with some mock meat and mushroom balls (which are almost as bad as the pork balls I remember from years ago, so definitely authentic 😂). Also the pickled veg and crispy noodles, yum!

The pre made options were ok too, but defo go for the khao soi!

Pros: Real Thai Khao soi

Fake Meat Galore

This place is excellent value for money, you. Friendly staff will load up your plate for like 40 baht. Maybe we arrived a little too late in the day (1:30pm) but the only options left were fake meat and there was not a vegetable in sight. I’m assuming they must have just sold out, but a green vegetable would have warmly welcome. Regardless, the fake meat dishes were great. There was a spicy fake meat and potato green curry that I also enjoyed.

Pros: Realistic fake meat, Cheap price, Friendly staff

Cons: More vegetables needed

Coolest vegetarian eatery in Chiang Mai

I ate almost every meal here while I was in Chiang Mai. Best time to go there is early in the morning, when the food is freshly cooked and still hot. Big plate of rice with 2 generous servings of toppings costs 30 baht. They have very good selection of mock meats as well. Most delicious, rich vegan khao soi or other vegan noodle soups are usually my choice for an early breakfast. They close around 4 pm, but most of the good stuff is gone by 2 pm, so try to get there as early as possible. They also offer very cheap take out food and desserts. Most of the topping options are mildly spiced and they always have a good variety. Love this place!

too much meat taste...

The food does taste like meat as someone else said before, but not in a good way... I took the rice with “chicken” and it does taste like chicken, only like an old foul one... and also not very warm... made me think of germs in street food unfortunately.

Pros: very very cheap, a full meal for 30 bath!!!, clean place, good ventilation , very friendly staff

Cons: the food tasted very much like bad meat, I couldn’

Totally delicious

That's I couldn't believe this wasn't meat. All the dishes were vegan essentially and there was a lovely amount of vegan baking of like shortbread.

Pros: delicious and fresh

Packed=GOOD

This place is inexpensive and very tasty. It’s nice that there is plenty of seating, although if you come at lunch time you’ll probably be making friends and sharing a table. I’ve had their noodle soup twice and it’s been delicious each time. They put in a good selection of fake meat including, my favorite, mushroom stems that taste like pulled pork. During my most recent visit I tried their fried potatoes (weird seeing this at a Thai restaurant) and some stir fried green vegetables, both were so good I almost got seconds, but I opted for noodle soup again :).

Pros: cheap, fast, good selection, noodle soup

Super delicious, Super cheap.

Another great cheap place to stop. Everything you could want for super cheap. They even have their own home made organic herbal drinks which are delicious, but most have honey, I tried one without. They serve pre-made food out of the counter at the front, and have an option to pay apx. 5 baht more for the "special" which is a bigger portion :)

Great healthy food!

Perfect food, super friendly personal and relaxed place. I´m so glad I found it and found out I love Jay food. It´s not too spicy either and there´s lots of options, both vegetables and fake meat.

The prices are too cheap compared to the excellent quality. They also have a little corner where you can buy soymilk, sweets, crisps and much more.

It´s a big place with lots of tables. Also very clean.

Pros: Excellent food, Relaxed and friendly, Cheap

Cons: Nothing
