So much variety

If you had to choose one spot, this is the place. Proper food and many varieties with protein (meatballs, tempeh, tofu). Really enjoyed the desserts as well. About 90% of the items are vegan.

Cons: Not fully vegan.

Pros: Klare Kennzeichnung, Fast ausschliesslich vegan, Vegane Desserts

Cons: Hohe Preise

Always a good option

I mostly get my food to go but sometimes I do dine in.
It does get very busy at lunch time but you can find seats easily after the lunch rush.
This location has two floors now which have different opening hours but this has helped to have more seats. As the original configuration was pretty cramped.

Pros: Good selection of dishes, Clearly labeled , Two floors and two different buffet boats

Cons: Not 100% vegan

Great place!

Tibits is a Swiss chain of vegetarian buffet restaurants. The food is paid by weight. Most options are vegan. Non-vegan options are marked. Tibits next to the main station in Bern is in a very nice location. They have a buffet downstairs and another one upstairs. Upstairs is a relaxing outdoor terrace. I always try to visit a Tibits when I am in Switzerland, the food is always good, some dishes even excellent.

Great for a meal if you are arriving or leaving Bern

Usually a great choice.
Some dishes are delicious, others just Ok. Always a bit the problem with tibits. But overall a solid experience.

Despite being in the train station, it is rather cozy.

Pros: Most dishes are vegan, Well labeled

Cons: Rather expensive

It's good to have a restaurant with so many vegan options right next to the train station. As in every Tibits the food is mostly good. Some dishes are really delicous, others are just mediocre. Your plate is probably full with a lot different items, so it doesn't matter if one or two turn out to be a bit bland, as others will make up for it.

Pros: Tolles Buffet, Klar markiert, Mehrheitlich vegan

Cons: Etwas teuer

My absolute favourite in Switzerland

This chain of restaurants is the, best option for me. Since I live in Switzerland and even when I was coming as a tourist I'm going there some times a week and I always find different things or combinations so I never get bored, you can add different sauces or nuts to your plate as well. The place is vegetarian but most things are vegan and are clearly labeled, even in english at the back of the sign. They also have amazing desserts and you can take as much as you want so you're not forced to eat a whole piece, you can mix small pieces of two or more. Drinks are also amazing! from cocktails to hot chocolate.

Pros: Variety, Always open, Great atmosphere

Cons: Food may contain too much salt

Excellent - minus 1 point for being super expensive

Tibits was delicious. There wasn’t a thing that I tried that I didn’t like. However, it was $75 Swedish Francs (about $80 US dollars) for the 2 of us - each had a full (but not piled high) plate and a small desert plate and tap water. If I weren’t on vacation, I wouldn’t choose to eat there hardly ever due to the price.
PS: Excuse the pic with half eaten food. We were ravenous and dug in before I remembered to take a photo.

Pros: Tasty, COVID safe, Quick service

Cons: Expensive

Large buffet

A very large self-service buffet full of delicious plates. I love the fact that you can freely serve whatever you like. It's also a great place to eat with non-vegetarian friends as well, as they offer cool alternatives of traditional meals like Zürcher Geschnetzeltes or Älpler Macrone.

Pros: Large choice

Cons: A bit expensive

Fantastic food

I got off the train and was looking for coffee when I spotted Tibits and I knew they served vegetarian food only. The servers were soooo sweet and helpful. I knew I would come back for lunch. The spread was just as great as that at Hiltil. Hiltil has some Indian food options which was one of the differences between the two. But I think the food here is much better. Personally I’d be okay with either but I prefer Tibits over Hiltil now. The ambience was great and the location was perfect - right outside the station. Again, Tibits has several locations!

Pros: Pay by weight concept, Lavish spread

Wenn‘s schnell gehen soll oder für ein Imbiss zwischendurch

Immer tolles Essen, wird leider schnell mal teuer.

Pros: Nur vegetarisch/veganes Essen, Buffett mit grosser Auswahl

Cons: Teuer, Chronischer Platzmangel

Excellent selection

The food offerings at this buffet were largely vegan, and I can't remember the last time I had this much choice. I tried small portions of a great many dishes, and they were all good. The only real downside is that is expensive to fill your stomach here.

Tasty selection of vegan food

Not all options are vegan, but there's very clear labelling (including of common allergens). Buffet style so you get a variety of things, everything I tried was great. Not cheap but it's Switzerland so relatively not too bad either

vegan friendly buffet

Very popular and crowded chain with their standard pay by weight principle. If you don't have an enormous apetite, prices are okay for local standards. Many vegan options, clearly indicated. Other ingredients/allergies are clearly indicated. Large outdoor seating area, located in the central station building.
- the dishes are mainly the same as in the other tibits branchea
- there were many smokers on the terrace that greatly reduced the culinary experience

Pros: many vegan options, easily accesible

Cons: same buffet optiona as the other branches, many smokers on the terrace

Excellent way to sample Swiss dishes

I really liked this place, is buffet style self serve set up. Today they had faux sausage stew, good salads, some fancy vegan cheese, potato dishes, cabbage salad, dried bean salad, and more. There is also a dessert section, including Bircher muesli. Everything is clearly labelled (including in English) for a variety of allergens. My plate cost 19.50. Have wifi too if you ask at the counter for log on info.

Pros: variety of vegan options, nice interior

Cons: not really cheap

Variety of food

Great concept, you can take your own food and weigh it at the register. You can take as little/much as you like. The variety of food is enormous, something for everyone!

Pros: Variety of food, Choose your own amount of food, Friendly staff

Cons: Bit expensive

something unique

Taste everything

Really good! A very busy place, so it was not easy to find a seat, but it was worth it. It's self-service from a buffet, and I tried lots of different things - sausage slices, two kinds of balls, different dips and sauces, vegetables etc, and a hot chocolate. The majority of buffet items was vegan. If you come with an empty stomach and really want to get full, it will be expensive, but for a tasting experience, it is great.

Pros: Great variety, Majority of dishes is vegan

Cons: Pretty busy

awesome variety of food

very busy restaurant. there is a wide choice of dishes for all food requirements. I loved all the vegan options got carried away which came at a cost but it was worth it for me ? the only problem was (and this was our fault) my dad is GF and there was a language barrier with one of the chefs who said the "G" meant GF but it actually means it contains gluten ? so poor papa bear wasn't feeling too good after a mountain plate of gluten!

great good and ambience

Loved this place. The food was fantastic. I'm vegan but my partner isn't and he really enjoyed it as well. The cost for 2 of us with a glass of wine and a beer plus dessert was 49CHF which we thought was great.

Friendly, tasty, expensive

Located in the railway building, this restaurant offers a self-service buffet. As I went there, most option were vegan and clearly labeled. You take your food from the buffet, go to a counter (friendly staff, explained everything very patiently), and put your plate on a scale. I was a little astonished by the price. For Switzerland it is moderate, even not very affordable. But if you're from a foreign country, be careful how much you put on your plate.
The food was really tasty and was made of fresh ingredients, often with a "oriental" touch. Some dishes were warm, others cold, a small bread is included. All in all I enjoyed my short stay there. The only thing I would complain is the atmosphere, especially outside. You're sitting right next to a street, the building itself is pretty ugly, and so on. That's maybe not a fault of the restaurant, but in consequence of that there's a lack of atmosphere.

Pros: Staff, Fresh, tasty food

Cons: Outside seating / atmosphere

veggie station

The restaurant organizes time to time a vegan day and I had the pleasure to be there and...it was so great, one hardly believes. It is really a busy place, with problems to find a place to sit so don't expect any oasis of peace, but surely a must visit.

Pros: a huge choice, sooo tasty

Cons: quite busy place, hard to find a seat

Great vegan food options

Tibits, in its various locations, is probably the best place to eat for vegans in Switzerland. They have a great variation of food, the majority of which being vegan, and have some very imaginative dishes. Unfortunately it's usually quite crowded due to its popularity. The Bern chain seems particularly small. The food is definitely worth the noise though.

Pros: Great food, Lots of vegan options

Cons: A little too crowded
