Everything Vegan on menu!

We found this place through Happy Cow. The directions are correct BUT a bit tricky to identify the exact restaurant so we’ve added a picture of the restaurant front. Basically, it’s two shops to the right of the Temple. Usual Buddhist restaurant with calm atmosphere and great selection of dishes. Food was delicious! There is a shop next door with a great selection of vegan meats too. Five stars!

Pros: Atmosphere, Food, Service

Cons: Tricky to identify the actual restaurant

Amazing place

Don’t miss this!!

Delicious vegan food, near the centre of Dalian. We found the place easily using the Chinese name and Baidu maps. I’ve posted pictures of the restaurant front.

The food was amazing!! We had faux sausage and chicken breast, cabbage and tofu noodle soup, faux spicy lamb and some delicious dumplings. It was all amazing and very reasonable prices - around 20 kuai for each dish, only 3 for a single sausage (which I really recommend). Cannot emphasise enough how yummy the food was - even my omni friend gave it 5 stars.

Local family run business - very friendly staff. No English spoken, and menu was all in chinese, but easy to translate using an app. Atmosphere was clean and cosy. Will definitely be heading back before we leave Dalian! I’ve posted pictures of all the dishes we had.

Don’t miss it!

Pros: Delicious homemade chinese VEGAN food , Good prices and generous portions , Welcoming staff and atmosphere

English friendly (probably) vegan restaurant with tasty food

(This place is probably vegan, at least none of the dishes contain eggs or meat.)

Easy to find, the address is correct, the Chinese name in the description is the same as on the big green sign above the entrance. The menu was in English and Chinese and had many dishes, both with vegetables and fake meat. The staff was friendly and spoke a little bit of English.
We had three dishes;
Nr 105 spinach fried mushrooms 18 yuan
Nr 111 tomato cauliflower 20 yuan
Nr 605 stirfried noodles with vegetables 10 yuan
The stirfried noodles were probably my favorite but the other dishes were pretty tasty aswell!

Definitely worth a visit!

Pros: Menu in English Friendly staff Cheap

Cons: No pictures on the menu

Delicious and cheap vegan restaurant

This restaurant is located next door to a Buddhist temple. It's a small hole in the wall place with friendly service.

Everything seems to be vegan. The fake meat dishes we tried (sausage and chicken) were done well taste- and appearance-wise. I'll try to post a picture of the "fake sausage". Some of the dishes we tried are listed below:

#9 - stir fried veggie with fake fatty pork - really good! The vegetable was cooked just right. The fake fatty pork was also really good. Will try to post photo as well. We also tried another stirred fried veggie dish (forgot to write down the number), which was also really good.

#50 - fried rice - very flavorful.

#51 - dumplings - I love these. The plate was huge with like 15 dumplings too.

I forgot to write down the numbers for the other dishes we tried. Will update if I get a chance to go back.

Pros: Great food, Friendly service, Affordable

Buddhist vegetarian restaurant

Delicious Buddhist vegetarian restaurant, right near the temple on Tangshan St. This vegetarian restaurant is a favourite of mine, and I often come here with friends who are not vegetarian.

They do a big range of fake meats as well as stir friend vegetable dishes. The stirfried 'chicken' with cabbage dish is one of my favourites, and the do a great mapo tofu.

The only downside (if you can't read Chinese - I'm learning!) is that the menu is all in Chinese and there are no pictures. The staff are very helpful and happy to explain the dishes to you, or you can just point at things and take your chances! I've been quite a few times, so I just note down the dishes that I like, while I'm still learning to read the characters.

Pros: Delicious food , Great value , Buddhist temple nearby

Cons: Small restaurant, No picture menu

Delicious and Cheap

We've made a habit of eating here regularly because it's so tasty and affordable. Even our non-veggie friends are usually up for it. It can be alarming at first that menu mentions so much meat and seafood, but rest assured it's all vegan veggie versions.
Since our Chinese is still in the beginner stage, we generally just point to a couple of things, since there are no pictures on the menu, and we are usually positively surprised. (Two plates plus rice is plenty of food.) There's one woman who speaks some English and likes to make suggestions.
They also sell the meatless products they use, so you can cook at home.
Don't expect to find any beer with alcohol or tea with caffeine. They don't sell them.

Pros: Great food, great value, non-smoking
