Exceptional !

We've had the five-course chef's tasting menu (the last course was dessert). I understand it changes daily - today everything was spot on. Eggplants with tomatoes, baby courgettes with mustard sauce, baked leeks and potatoes on apple/radish puree (fantastic !), fennel with chanterelles and red currants and for dessert - peaches in syrup with home-made vanilla icecream with a slice of caramelised brioched. All this with two glasses of excellent white wine and two carafes of tap water for a total of 60-odd euros (total for two). Exceptional ! (Not to mention the great service - welcoming, cheerful and helpful !)

Calidad-Precio Elevado

Restaurante bonito y acogedor. La carta está muy bien especificada con alérgenos: vegano, vegetariano, sésamo, gluten, ...
El personal fue agradable y atento.

Pros: Alimentos de primera calidad., Excelente prentación de los platos., Opción de menú degustación, mínimo para dos person

Cons: Platos escasos. Poca cantidad., Caro. Precio elevado., Lentos. Servio lento en servir los platos.

Disappointed by Chef's Tasting Menu

So to be clear this is the "bistro" branch of Tian, which has reasonable prices. We did not try the high-end restaurant as it seemed unaffordable.

We just went once and so it may have been an anomaly, but the vegan version of the Chef's tasting menu was underwhelming. In retrospect, we wished we'd ordered a la carte and gotten dishes that we desired.

The first course was a red pepper stuffed with cous-cous. Meh. Then a "smokey" tofu that wasn't smokey at all--just seemed like some raw tofu with a bunch of Bragg's poured on it. There was eggplant with some al dente chickpeas that was OK, and then the final entree was braised fennel. Everything was good but nothing dazzled us. The dessert was really nice.

We saw flatbread pizzas (a la carte) passing us by that had us jealous.

The space is very large and had both indoor and outdoor tables. We get the sense that it's a hit with the vegetarian crowd, but they haven't really mastered vegan yet. We think it's a place that has a lot of potential and are glad it's there!

Pros: Nice space, indoor & outdoor, Attentive service, Centrally located

Cons: Vegan options disappointed

Beautiful food

After a long day walking around Vienna (and trying a nearby pizza place to find it closed!) this was amazing. Beautiful indoor and outdoor seating (as shown in photos). I had the Raphaello which was absolutely amazing - top notch food for pretty average prices. So much to choose from vegan-wise too. The staff were really enthusiastic to show me all the vegan options. It also took about 3 minutes to come after I ordered!

Pros: So much choice, Delicious, Friendly staff and lovely decor inside and out

Cons: None!

Outstanding

We had the taster menu for €23 each for 5 courses and all of which was delicious. The staff were very helpful and explained in perfect english how everything was cooked. No other words than simply outstanding.

Urocze miejsce, pyszne jedzenie

Eko, wegetariańskie i wegańskie, świetnie zrobione. Jem białą polentę z kokosem i shitake, prawie jak deser. Piękne i idealnie złożone. Obsługa zasługuje na napiwki ;) Ceny wyższe, ale nadal do przyjęcia. Piękne podwórze, przytulnie, zacisznie, ciepło, miło, sprawnie.

5 course vegan tasting menu rocks

The menu is mainly veggie with limited vegan options. The staff were very patient as I asked lots of questions about the menu, it was only then that I discovered the garden dish was actually a 5 course vegan tasting menu. A minimum of 2 persons, 21 euro each. Great food and amazing value, save room for the desert. The decor is a bit rough and ready and we had to ask for tap water three times.

Pros: Vegan tasting menu, large pizzas

Cons: Inattentive service.

Lovely venue

Really nice venue with lantern type lights and beautiful high glass ceiling (if you are in the best room!). Vegan options are fairly limited though.

Pros: Lovely venue

Cons: Not many vegan options

excellent healthy, fresh food in a nice environment

We really enjoyed our all vegan meal consisting of a soup and salad and a vegan main. We also enjoyed the chocolate cake and mousse dessert. Nice juice drinks and espresso. Very nice ambiance.

TIAN - Become a fan

Our first meal in Vienna and a great start to our visit. We sat in the courtyard conservatory as the main restaurant seating area was full. Not a surprise, as the food was good value and enjoyable. A relaxed place and really satisfying.

Pros: Relaxed city bistro, Good food, Nice area to visit too

food was just ok

This place is conveniently located in the museum district and the restaurant and decor are lovely, with a covered courtyard. I had a vegan cream of tomato soup which wasn't creamy at all but wasn't bad. I also ordered a vegan tarte flambée. Half size. It was enough food but it was basically just a cheese less pizza on a very flat crust. It was edible but not very interesting.
