Was apprehensive and pleasantly surprised!

After seeing the reviews for Tia Betty Blue’s on Happy Cow I was a little worried about coming here with some Omni friends but was pleasantly surprised! Two clearly marked vegan options on the menu, I got the tamale plate and it was great!

Pros: Clearly marked vegan options, Vegan tamales

Terribly expensive!

I'm mostly vegan, so I ordered the breakfast hash. They didn't ask what type of eggs I wanted, and I didn't think to say how I wanted them cooked. One of the reasons I wanted this dish was the asparagus. I love asparagus! There were very few asparagus spears in the dish. And what was there was so fibrous I didn't eat them. Some veggies were hard, while others were so soft. For three adult dishes and one kid dish, we paid over $60! And who puts Frito chips in a breakfast dish?? Oh, and the AC was on upstairs, and the door was open when it was about 40 degrees outside. It was freezing!

Rip off vegan options

When offering vegan options they might offer a similar amount of veggies.

Pros: Claim to offer vegan options

Cons: The vegan options are half the size of, the same dish with egg and cheese., Same price.

Delicious!

I stopped here with my mom on our way to the airport. The food was delicious!

I ordered the clearly labeled vegan option on the menu: the tamales. The plate was large, and each component of the dish was delicious and well seasoned.

My mom, who is vegetarian, ordered the Vegetarian Hash, and also enjoyed her meal!

They also have almond and soy milk available for their delicious latte's, and the service was incredible.

Pros: Delicious food, Cute and comfortable atmosphere, Great Location

Cons: 1 clearly marked vegan option

Love It!

When you go in, you order at the counter then find a seat. If you tell them you want something vegan, they use a "vegan" stamp all over your order, to minimize the chance of miscommunication with the kitchen. What a great idea! Vegan items are marked on the menu, and most all of the vegetarian items can be made vegan as well. Also, when I ordered, they told me there would be a delay of 30 minutes for the food and gave me free chips and salsa. I appreciated that, and the salsa was delicious and garlicky. I had the vegan tamales, which are served with calabacitas, beans, and potatoes. Everything was well spiced and fresh, and it was a HUGE portion. This was a great dining experience and I'd recommend this place to anyone.

Pros: Clearly marked vegan items, Fresh and delicious veggies, Lots of options

Cons: None
