Could be great but didn’t cut it - Edit
I’ll be honest. This place could be great. Nice look and feel and quite cosy. But a few point that really let it down:
Read more1) The staff. No smile or anything from the girl behind the counter. Not very welcoming which is always key.
2) The food took about 20/25 minutes to come out when it wasn’t busy. The drinks came out just after…
3) The Big breakfast was ok, but came out with chopped fried potatoes and not hash browns as advertised.
4) The staff again. They we’re all laughing and talking when they all eventually turned up. Can’t give the customer a smile, but plenty for each other….
Cheek really considering the card machine asks for a tip when you pay. £30 breakfast all in all for two people. Not worth it. Shame as it could have been good.

What a gem! - Edit
This cafe is an eco-friendly, safe, and inclusive space, and the atmosphere is cosy and welcoming. You can have breakfast, light bites, lunch, specials, hot and cold drinks, shakes & smoothies and cocktails. It's very reasonably priced, too.

Tasty comfort food - Edit
Just really good comfort food. Sometimes you just want a toastie which can be hard as a vegan in a non-vegan world. This place delivered!

Underwhelmed :( - Edit
I’ve been here a couple of times & after the first time I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt when food was quite bland. Sadly it was the same when I visited today. It was great to have a wide selection but the food was just ok, I wouldn’t rush back. It’s a shame cause I wanted to love it (as others do) but it didn’t live up to expectations for me.

Lovely spot - Edit
Updated review Feb 2023: Such a friendly and cosy atmosphere! Much more expansive menu since kitchen change, with lots of GF options. Tasty food, though table orders came out at very different times. It was super busy and staff were apologetic! Much improved and definitely worth a visit if in Cambridge 😊
Read morePrevious review 2021: Lovely cafe - great selection of gluten free options. Unfortunately, the food was a little undercooked and some of the side vegetables in my dish were out of stock, so my meal was a little underwhelming. They were very busy that day, so I will definitely give Thrive another go, in the future.

Answered my very important questions like if their carrot cake was sullied by containing things like raisins or currants (it was, I opted for the chocolate fudge cake instead, rich, filling, yet

Fast, friendly, have to take 5 stars off and give zero though as their dog board wasn’t called “Elwoods farm board”
Pros: Tasty, Reasonably priced , Fast
Cons: Dog picture board not called Elwood’s farm board

Delicious cakes and a great vibe! - Edit
The venue was cool and quirky, the staff were very friendly and welcoming and I loved the ethos of the place. We had the salted caramel cheesecake, red velvet cake, an iced matcha latte and an iced turmeric latte and they were delicious. This was our first time in Cambridge but we’ll definitely pay another visit in the future. Highly recommend.

Quirky and friendly space - Edit
The staff really go out of their way to be helpful and have a chat. The breakfast was nice, and they have lots of appealing options for cakes and mains. Note that the breakfast menu is served until noon, after which then the day menu is offered

THE vegan cafe in Cambridge - Edit
This is my favourite cafe in Cambridge (and I’ve been to 20 )…
Read moreIt’s adorable; decorated with plants, and the staff are so friendly and vibrant – always complimenting me!
Vegan croissants, cakes, gf options, breakfast/ brunch, lunch; so many drink options
I especially love the fries with garlic mayo, matcha iced lattes (they offer almond, coconut, oat and soya milk) and the muffins
The vibe is relaxed; there’s art for sale on the walls from independent artists, a sustainable refill shop and plug sockets, sofas and outside seating for when it’s sunny!
Pros: Fully Vegan cakes, coffee and meals , Very comfortable, great place to work, Very social and friendly
Cons: Only the distance from the town centre!

What a lovely place!! It is a must visit in Cambridge. Nice, fab and friendly service. Great foods and drink!! I had weekly special and one burger on the next day, they were both very delicious!! Very satisfying with good portion! Amazing cakes btw!! I like the vibe a lot and they are more than a place to chill and eat! I would highly recommend this place for trying plant based foods and nice coffee! on the 1st floor they have really good view of the road - super relaxing!

Lovely atmosphere - Edit
The service was good and food delivery time prompt even when it was reasonably busy on a Saturday afternoon.
Read moreWe had the burger and chips with added extra bacon which was very tasty it was tempeh ‘bacon’ and the burger was moving mountains. Chips were skin on fries.
We also had milkshakes, lotus biscoff and a Oreo one both were served with cream on top and were delicious.
There’s quite a lot of searing inside plus some outdoor seating. There’s also various board games available to play. Books being sold and next door but linked is a zero waste refill shop.
Pros: Nice atmosphere , Food delivery time was good
Cons: Menu could be clearer
