Lovely

A few vegan dishes. The vegetarian and margarita pizzas can be vegan with vegan cheese (written on the menu). Staff knew which wine was vegan. I was travelling alone and staff were very friendly and attentive. I didn't feel I'd be forgotten which sometimes happens when I'm dining alone!

Pros: Attentive , Friendly, Great food

Cons: Wasn't obvious it was open, the door looked locked

Top quality vegan pasta meal

Lovely historic pub with a few nice vegan options on the menu (pasta, pizza and a burger). Vegan cheese available. Vegan white Rioja also excellent.

Pros: Great food, Lovely historic pub, Excellent vegan friendly wine

Good vegan option in Hay

Had read previous reviews so as we were heading to Hay on Wye and thought this would be the best option. Had the vegan burger, not a fake meat affair but a lovely bean burger, Italian seasoned with onions, gherkin, relish and vegan cheese. It was lovely. There was a vegan pasta option and pizza options. Lovely pub, friendly staff, local vegan beer.

Pros: Not the usual options , Vegan beer , Good value

Cons: No vegan dessert as far as I know.

Great pub

There were several vegan options but not just the standard fare. Looks like they've put a bit of effort in. Staff fantastic. Pleasant surroundings. Originally a 17th century pub

Pros: Several vegan option, Great staff, Great beer, gin and cider

Cons: Serves meat (understandable), Couldn't find beer mats 🍻

Amazing pizza

The pizza cheese can be substituted for vegan mozzarella which is very tasty. I had the vegetarian pizza with vegan cheese. Extra toppings are available.

Pros: Vegan starters and mains, Decent sized portions, Friendly staff

This is the one - a vegan chef

I’ve been coming here for years - it gets more vegan-friendly with every visit. I’m a vegan chef, trust me this is the place - and the owner is lovely. Today there was bruschetta, pasta, pizza, vegan burger and really good salad. Beer is banging too - as is the beer garden. Don’t bother with anything else!

Pros: Tasty vegan food, Reasonable prices, Great beer and vibe

High quality food and good sevice - very limited vgn options.

We ate here in September 2020 and they were amazing. The vegan options were limited but there was options for 3 courses. (olives, bruschetta, a vegetable burger, vegan puttanesca and sorbet) the vegan puttanesca was fantastic we really enjoyed it. Unfortunately we tried to go again recently, and they had changed their menu several months ago but not updated thier website. They have now removed most of their vegan options and only have a veggie burger which neither of us wanted. We were really disappointed.

I would recomend this place as the food we've had their is great but I'd also say you can't trust the menus online or know what options they will have.

Pros: High quality food , Fair prices

Cons: Website and menu info is unreliable

Lovely food and staff!

I had lunch here with some non-vegans. There isn’t a vegan sandwich option but I had lovely bruschetta with vegan mozzarella and chips and tenderstem broccoli on the side. Very good!

Pros: Tasty vegan options, Friendly service, Nice building

Grest start for a non-dedicated vegan restaurant.

Very cosy and welcoming inn/restaurant in Hay-on-Wye. They offer a couple of vegan options for both starters and mains. We chose the Tuscan bean soup with a side of fries. Food was delicious and all freshly prepared. The thick sliced crusty bread that accompanied the meal was delicious too. Having thanked the owner for offering vegan options, he went on to explain that he is keen to offer more vegan items and has really only just begun learning what dishes would be popular. He took the time to talk about the vegan food and drink on offer and his plans for expanding his vegan menu. I appreciated him taking the time to explain which of the ales that he stocked were suitable for vegans. Despite not being vegan himself, he took time and great care to make sure we were happy with our visit.

Visit on a Sunday and you can enjoy a dedicated vegan Sunday roast. Something we unfortunately didn't get to do but we will be back!

Pros: Excellent quality food all freshly prepared. , Selection of vegan ales available. , Friendly and welcoming staff.

Cons: More vegan options would be welcome.
