I ordered via telephone for pickup. They told me it would be ready in 15-20 minutes, so I said no problem. I get there in about 30 minutes (don’t live close), it’s not ready. There are 2 kitchen people, and one person in the bar, and one hostess. My food was finally ready 50 minutes after placing the order - half an hour late. I miss the pre-2020 3C. We haven’t been back as much because of all the issues they’ve had in recent years and it seems they still haven’t gotten back to normal.

If I could give a one-star review I would, but happy Cow doesn’t allow it.
Read moreThe 5 star reviews were convincing enough to try it out while traveling through Indianapolis but being from Denver, where vegan options are not only plentiful but truly top shelf, it could not come close.
We did Sunday brunch and ordered the Benedict and the loaded biscuits and gravy. The best thing they served was the bowl of fruit we got as a side. The Benedict was not a Benedict, being served on potatoes instead of bread. The Most damning thing about this plate was that the potatoes were salty, the sauce was salty, and it resulted in something almost unpalatable. And that’s not all that was salty, the staff was quite peeved when I brought this up. I could even hear them complaining about me to each other after I brought it up. I was also told that the portions would be fairly large, but I would call it a small portion in my experience.
My partner got the loaded biscuits and gravy, which was better than my dish but she could barely stomach it. I ate what remained, having been unsatisfied with mine, but I understood why she didn’t love it. The Seitan was kind of rubbery and spongy and was full of oil. The biscuits were just ok, the gravy was only saved by the white pepper flavor otherwise it was flavorless. In the end after having eaten some of both dishes I haven’t been feeling great.
The last thing I want to mention is the fact that we felt very ignored, we did not get water refills until I waved one waitress down finally. The vibe was very unfriendly, almost like no one wanted to be there, and I don’t know if it’s because they didn’t recognize us as a regular but it felt like we were unwelcome.
Overall, if it’s the only option available, I guess you could try it… I just wish I hadn’t.

Large portions, beautiful patio - Edit
We decided to get three appetizers: wings, nachos, and poutine. They gave us so much food we couldn’t finish any of the dishes and will get to enjoy them for the next couple of meals. The food was slightly cold and soggy, but that’s to be expected when ordering saucy takeout. Better than expected and we will definitely be back to eat on their spacious outdoor patio!

Not Understanding All the 5 Star Reviews - Edit
We ate here as a stop on our road trip since there were so many amazing reviews. We got the Bahn mi, Nachos, Buffalo mac and cheese, and poutine and only ate a few bites of each. They were all just mushy, flavorless and overly salty. Maybe we caught this place on a bad day but we would definitely not return or recommend.

Maybe people give 5 star reviews since it’s all they know? I just moved here from Austin where there’s tons of good vegan food. Interested to see if it is good? Your review has me worried… I hate salty food.

Really good seitan! - Edit
Everything is vegan so the number of options is incredible. The seitan is so good—they have tons of protein options which is very refreshing (even different kinds of tofu!)
Read moreThe staff are friendly and the facility is clean. The tables are spaced apart which is nice, and there’s outdoor seating as well. So stoked to come back! Lunch for 3 was about $55.

Very nice - Edit
We got there a bit late so we weren't sure if we'd have time to get food to go, but it was fine. I got the poutine. The mushroom gravy is lovely. I'll have to come back to try more of their menu the next time I'm in Indianapolis. Parking was also easier than I was worried it would be.

I took my non-vegan family here and they all liked the food too. Unfortunately we had to wait very long, over half an hour.

My regular visit! - Edit
When I'm in Indy, I always make sure to stop by Three Carrots. The location is great (parking is always surprisingly easy, too), service is solid, and the food is SO GOOD. I usually end up there for brunch -- chicken and waffles, biscuits and gravy, cheesy grits. The rosemary biscuits are to die for. The hot chicken biscuit is my favorite.

We were traveling through Indy and found this gem. I had the rich girl sandwich. It was the BEST sandwich I have ever eaten! So good. Their fries were crunchy and seasoned well. I will totally eat here again if I’m in Indy.

Visit if in Indianapolis! - Edit
We came here while visiting Indianapolis on Memorial Day weekend. Very good food, good seating inside and also an outdoor patio. The blackberry lime dessert bar we had was big enough to share and was very tasty. I highly recommend this place as there is not a lot of vegan options around.

Amazing experience at Three Carrots! - Edit
I can't say anything other than wow! The restaraunt was extremely busy, but the staff was still attentive & nice. We got the poutine, the seitan pesto melt, & a side of Mac and cheese. All of the food was amazing, but the pesto melt was the stand out for us. I'm gonna go on a limb and say you probably couldn't order anything bad on the menu.

Vegan Comfort food that hits the spot! - Edit
We got the Buffalo Sheltonator, Southern Bowl and Shepherd’s Bowl. They were all great and served by an attentive waitstaff. The cornmeal battered tofu and the seitan were all well prepared and served quickly. They have a cute inside and a nice outdoor dining area too. Don’t miss this place!! Kid friendly and they compost. Check their website for hours as HappyCow said they were closed when they were open. #Veganuary

Great vegan food! - Edit
It's a great spot in Indianapolis for some vegan eats! All the staff were nice and the food wasn't terribly overpriced. I had a seitan gyro that was amazing, but the fries were a little less crispy than I would have liked. Overall the service and food was great and would definitely go again

Flavorful & filling - great place to stop - Edit
We stopped by as we drove past Indianapolis on a road trip. Three Carrots is conveniently located so it was easy to hop on and off the expressway - and it was definitely worth it. I had the Marcus Brutus (Caesar) salad with fried tofu and my husband had a simple side salad with a cup of soup. The Caesar dressing was rich, thick and creamy, the croutons added a great crunch, veggies added more flavor (and nutrients!), and the tofu helped make it a complete, filling meal. Wish it were a little bigger - only because I liked it so much. Husband's side salad was a very generous portion, as was the cup of curry cauliflower soup. The soup was more of a stew, very filling, and at the risk of sounding repetitive, also very flavorful. Staff was friendly too.

Bowls of warm food on a chilly day - Edit
We came here for dinner and although there is plenty of patio seating, the propane heaters were not working so it was a chilly dinner. Ordered poutine, Mac n cheese, southern bowl, and brown rice bowl. Brown rice bowl was my favorite with Brussels sprouts and kale. The pumpkin cheesecake was also a treat. Super-friendly staff and quick service.

Great vegan junk food - Edit
Went here because of the prior reviews and it was well worth the trip. Had the buffalo sheltanator and my wife had the buffalo Mac n cheese. Both were amazing. The sheltanator was so satisfyingly messy. The fries were ok and the poutine was ok as well. Probably would skip those the next go round.

I shouldnt have to earn the right to eat here and that's how your staff made me feel. I walked in to get some food. Grabbed the menu sitting next to the host stand. Was told I needed to get carry out because the dining room was closed. Proceed to order, and then told that things I wanted werent available. Why? Because the menu in my hand wasnt the real menu and that I should be using the website. Would have been nice to have been instructed to do so in the first place. Why do you even have printed menus available if they aren't accurate? I placed my order and then went outside to wait. While waiting, I found out there was patio seating available. So I went back inside to get a table for the patio. I was told that since I already placed the order for carry out, I couldn't be seated outside. It was "too much work for the staff".
