Super friendly service with fresh, tasty vegan options - Edit
We stopped here for brunch with some non-vegan friends so everyone could have what they wanted. We were pleasantly surprised at how friendly the proprietors were when we arrived. There was only one other customer, but they were welcoming and invited us to sit wherever we liked. Bringing the menus and water, they assured us they were available should we have any questions, and that dishes could be customized based on our preferences.
Read moreIt was nice to see such a large selection of vegan items, and I decided on Rosas Vegan Tranquito with Mushroom as the meat. The portion size was huge! One of our friends ordered a smoothie to drink while we waited on our food and he was full from the smoothie even before his food arrived!
Again, the proprietors were super-friendly, chatting us up about offering vegan options for items not listed as vegan on the menu. We then inquired about vegan cheese and thus, discovered, no cheese for veganized items.
About halfway through our meal, they brought out sides on the house. For each couple, there was one fried plantain with powdered sugar, and a savory tamale. They were sure to point out that our tamale was vegan, while the other, for our non-vegan friends, was not.
I would definitely go back to try this place again. I'm not sure how long they've been open, but if it hasn't been long, I know they'll last if they keep up this type of service and level of food!
