Perfect secret hideaway - Edit
Such a lovely place for our breakfast/lunch. We shared the fried spring rolls, thong dongs noodle soup and colourful rice and all were splendid. All clearly made fresh and just tasted yummy.
Read moreThe sapa plum iced tea was nice too.
The mango vegan cheesecake was a bit odd, not the best one I've had, but still pleasant.
The staff were really pleasant and the whole place had very chilled out vibes, which made it a really nice visit. I would totally recommend.
And the highlight so the visit for us were the kittens. Two cute little bundles of joy.

Such a nice place, great food - Edit
We came here several times and the food was always nice. The things I enjoyed the most were the iced chocolate (so creamy), the creamy mushroom spaghetti and the fresh mushroom spring rolls.
Read moreThe interior is super cozy, there is free tea, the staff is very friendly, and if you‘re lucky, you get to spend some time with their kitten. So cute!
They are open at 9am, not at 11:30am as stated online - and they only serve breakfast until 11am. We overheard many people coming in and asking for breakfast at 11:30 and being disappointed. So just keep this in mind if you want a late breakfast.

Amazing Food and Tours - Edit
The food is amazing, one of the best vegan restaurants in Sa Pa and they offer different kind of tours. The fansipan hike was hard but amazing, our guide (bing) was really nice and the food was amazing.

Lovely - Edit
They have 2 separate spaces for this 1st branch (the uphill stair space is kind of a tiny nice decored book cafe, the space up in the road above that has more natural light). Staff was helpful. Food was good, smoothie was the best! Nice atmosphere!

Hi Benny Wah,
Read moreI'm Vu, co-founder and also the main- chef of Thong Dong Vegan Sapa.
First of all, we're so sorry for your experiences in our place that did not meet your expectations. We know so many things we need to improve. As a young team, it's been really hard to build a vegan business in Vietnam especially since we're the first vegan restaurant in Sapa.
For your review, I hope I can be there to talk to you, so here is something that I hope that help in more detail.
- Should have more various foods to choose from: Our kitchen is tiny; ingredients are local, limited, and fresh every day; moreover, our customers are vastly different with totally different flavors and allergies. This menu is the result of more than one year of working and improving. Unfortunately, we didn't have the kind of food that you were looking for.
- About the "dirty cup", I'm so sorry to confirm that it's misunderstood. As we serve free tea as a welcome drink, you see in the cup it is tea stain. We clean the cup very carefully every time with hot water and dishwashing liquid. It's inevitably the result of used cups as time passes.
- Workers should be more understand English: 80% of our team are local and so young with no experience of working before. We have put in so much patience on not only training but also encouraging them to learn and to believe they can confidently communicate with foreigners. We don't have the opportunity to study in a good school, then learning by ourselves is hard and takes time though.
Thank you again for your understanding. We'll keep going and hope to welcome you back one day soon.

Best in Sapa - Edit
Easily my favorite place to eat in Sapa, especially since there isn't an awful lot of vegan food in the area. Loved coming here and to the other restaurant of theirs.

Great food! I’ve been returning there many times. Although busier than Thong Dong 2, so location-wise, the latter is a better option.

Wonderful menu, beautiful venue, amazing passion from staff, calm atmosphere. Hands down the best vegan place in Sapa, honestly only go here and Thong Dong 2, don’t even bother with other places. I’m so happy to have found it here.

Very Tasty Food - Edit
Great, fresh food, we loved the Salad. Also very beautiful interior of the place like a library. In a side street, so it is a quiet and enjoyable place. Kind staff as well. Didn't take long for our tasty food to arrive on our table. Banana shake also was delicious. Price was very very ok. Keep it up.

Best restaurant in Sa Pa - Edit
Together with their second restaurant, this is the best place for vegans in Sa Pa. I just loved it. The people, the food. They also offer all vegan tours, which is pretty awesome, too.

Even cozier than their second restaurant - Edit
This place is just very cute if you wanna go for a chill breakfast/lunch/dinner. We went for lunch as we skipped breakfast and were pretty full after so we didn’t need to have dinner. That is probably also because we had a lot of hot chocolate/coffee and tea this day as the weather was pretty bad.
Read moreWent for the soup and thus one def warms you up from the inside.
Great place!
Note: The location pin is pretty confusing, we went to the place that is basically coming up when walking up the stairs but there is one on the top (if you go further) as well! Our place was full at some point and people were sent one minute further up the stairs.
Pros: Very cozy and nicely decorated
Cons: The ginger dried apple tea was very sweet

Ate here again and again - Edit
Really cute and cozy restaurant. Their vegan food is so good! And they have a lot to choose from. I ate here a couple of times and every time the food was fresh and tasteful. Highly recommend! I do have to say that the staff could be more attentive.

It's way too cold in Sapa right now and the noodle soup and ginger warmed me up again. Enjoyed the cookies and fresh mushroom springrolls as well!
