The other best restaurant in Sa Pa - Edit
Together with their first restaurant, this is the best place for vegans in Sa Pa. I just loved it. The people, the food. They also offer all vegan tours, which is pretty awesome, too.

Cozy place - Edit
After having a few hot chocolates and cinnamon tea at “The Mist” (cafe next door), we went for this amazing food.
Read moreWe ordered the garlic butter tofu and buttery fried mushrooms. You always get a small bowl of soup (very good on a cold day in Sapa) and rice.
The buttery flavour was crazy intense but we really enjoyed it. Also the mushrooms were really nice - but there are def oily (it’s fried mushroom, of course it is).
What I really liked was that we even got asked for allergies, never had this experience before in Vietnam (or even in any other country).
Definitely worth going! #Veganuary
Pros: Atmosphere , Taking care of allergies

Peaceful venue - Edit
Thong Dong is a pleasant walk from the centre of town, perched behind Mist Cafe. We enjoyed our meal here and left feeling very nourished. The menu was different to Thong Dong 1 and the service was notably quicker. We would definitely recommend taking the walk up to have a meal.

On a cold evening we decided to try our first vegan hot pot here (300.000dong for 2 persons) in this cozy place. It tasted amazing and you could even order more ingredients (for a lil price add).

Very friendly cook and delicious food - Edit
As far as I can tell it's only one man who cooks and is the waiter. He is very friendly and cooks very delicious food!
Read moreAfter entering the garden from the street you have to pass one small house where you could only get coffee (called The Mist) and go all the way up to the other small house. Nice atmosphere.

Great dining experience - Edit
Thing Dong 2 hits all the marks: relaxing atmosphere, several large vegan hot pot options, and great service. If I recall correctly, you may have to leave the restaurant to use the restroom.

Can't really fault it - Edit
Had the hot pot meal for 2 to myself. I've been solo travelling Vietnam for two weeks now and could resist no longer. Thought the hotpot, two sides and a dessert might beat me but no, it was too delicious to leave. The tempura veg and tofu in butter garlic which tasted more like a sweet sesame sauce to me were great and I loved the cook it yourself hotpot. Only criticism would be that the dessert was meant to be seasonal desserts and I got 5 small pieces of watermelon. Service wasn't as attentive as I'd like either even though the waiter was lovely and spoke good English.

I little jewel in an otherwise quite carnist area - Edit
Full vegan restaurant with super charm staff/ family?. Dishes are superb. We tried the pumpkin spaghettis, coloured rice, a sesame salad and a fruit salad and everything came in no time to the table and was delicious. I loved also the inspirational quotes they have in an envelope at every table.

The perfect eating experience - Edit
I came across this place accidentally on my way back from another vegetarian/vegan resteraunt. There was a sign that said vegan and I knew I would have to come back. On arrival there were puppies playing and a lovely lady directed us up some steps to the vegan restaurant, we were greeted by a very friendly man and were seated. We choose the radish tofu and the chilli and garlic tofu which both came with rice. We drank a coconut iced coffee, espresso, mango smoothie and an apple and ginger tea the food and drinks were incredible, the atmosphere was brilliant and both people spoke English really well. He is definitely vegan for the animals which is a huge bonus! 100% recommend if your in the area!

Amazing hot pot - Edit
This second restaurant from the Thong Dong team is located a bit further out of town in a little wooden building in a garden. It’s the building at the top of the garden (we accidentally went to the one at the bottom first). I think they may grow their own veggies here. They have a different menu to the other restaurant so I’d recommend you try out both. This one specialises in hot pot which we got. The serving for two was massive (couldn’t finish it all) and it comes with sides and fruit. The restaurant can be a bit chilly when the weather is bad and it’s nice to warm up with a hot pot. They explain what to do, how long everything needs to cook for. The broth flavour is delicious and fruity. The staff are very nice and welcoming and speak good English. The atmosphere is good too. Fully recommend!

We had the small Hotpot Set for 300k VD. The broth was very delicious and the vegetables to add were fresh. Aside the set came with fried spicy tofu (very good) and deep fried vegetables (okay, but very oily).
