Perfect for a day out of town. - Edit
A classic afternoon out for Utrecht locals - big, relaxed place set in the green, accessible by canoe (or by boring bike/bus/car ;)), next to a small hostel. Make sure to say Hi to the donkey, horses and goats that live there :) Serves vegan options for pancakes and sandwiches.

Vegan pancakes - Edit
This pancake house has vegan pancakes! Although some of the staff doesn't know what 'vegan' is. If you catch one who doesn't know they will go and fetch a staff member who will take your order for a 'diet' pancake. I went with my rowing team and all our pancakes were served at the same time, which was rather neat considering that it was extremely busy.
The restaurant is very kid-friendly, to the point that I'd advise you to avoid it if you don't like children. It is usually full and noisy.
